Worst part for the 49ers is they'll have to pay Purdy soon now too. He is gonna demand a bag and we know hes not that guy. That MVP level, top 5 level QB that you need to win a SB.

Theres a reason he was the last pick. Media wanted to force that Brady comp and underdog story so bad. He is an above average QB. Borderline top 10. But he's not that guy.

Will 49ers go after Cousins?

IIRC Turdy can only get paid after next season, he needs to have three seasons under his belt according to the CBA (I've read that recently). I'm not sure about the 49ers situation when it comes to other contracts, but their situation won't get better in the coming years and they almost lost to the Lions and Packers as it is.

Football caters to the casual viewer, especially the Super Bowl. Instead of judging a QB based on the entirety of their career it's only judged on one game at the end of the year and it doesn't even matter how much the team carries the QB during the game, just which team wins at the end.

Mahomes is nowhere near GOAT convo yet. Montana is still a ways ahead of him, and Brady might as well be in another galaxy. That does not constitute "being in the convo." I'd argue Manning is still a ways ahead him, too. But he has earned his place among the Marino's, Elway's, Farve's, and Brees' of NFL history.

Manning’s ahead? Not by much. Maybe in pure individual accolades there’s still a gap but if that’s the measuring stick then Manning, Farve and Rodgers are all better than Brady. He’s already overtaken his SBs (the Denver one he was carried like a cripple). His career is already better than Manning’s first 6 years.
