Seems like the 49ers already got some pre-planned excuses lined up. FWIW, the Chiefs practiced last year at Arizona State and the Eagles practiced at the Cardinals' stadium for the Super Bowl.

Teams should have multiple pairs of molded and interchangeable cleats with different spike lengths for each player and be done with it- that this is an issue at all is more of a league problem than the Chiefs being dicks.

I think you misunderstand the situation. It's not a cleat issue in any way.

It's a field issue, which means that players have the option to wear different cleats to make up for a firm or soft field, instead of trying to find another facility or share Vegas' stadium. Wearing different cleats seems a lot more pragmatic than the logistical mess of changing locations of where you practice a week out from the game.

To @NewbZor and I's point, it is a league issue and they should have made sure that UNLV's field wasn't shit-tier. It's just more stupid "the game is rigged" bullshit that I really get tired of

I don't think cleats are the difference. As I understood it, the field is so soft and "spongy" their entire feet sink into the turf, like running in sand to some degree. Fresh sod isn't made to be run on, until roots take hold it's like a sponge.
