What do I give a shit about Olympic sprinters?

Tell that to rodgers, Lawrence and mahomes

“"I mean, that's the league right now," New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers said. "It's a lot of umbrella coverages, a lot of soft quarters coverages and two-high [safeties].

"That's what we saw a lot of in Week 1 and Week 2. There wasn't a lot of single-safety. When there was, we took a couple shots. But the league is really trending towards more umbrella defenses."

Said Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence: "Even the teams that have typically been single-high [safety] teams are playing more shell, which just changes your passing attack a little bit. Not to say you can't attack that still, but it definitely changes than if it's [single] safety."

"Teams are going to make you drive the entire field," Mahomes said. "There are opportunities out there, you just have to execute it at a higher level," Mahomes said. "[But] there's not as many as maybe I've had previously."

So yeah, 2 deep safeties actually do mean shit.

When talking the speed of Chris Johnson, you obviously needed some perspective.

So once the Chiefs let Tyreek walk what did they do, yep......draft the fastest cat at the combine in Worthy, right? Why, yep....replace that zoooommm.

Dude, how come we see receivers wide open BEHIND the D, well?

Rookies, sheesh~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I mentioned Chris Johnson cuz he’s the only guy in the fastest 40 times recorded to actually do shit. Proving my point that 40 time is a novelty for nfl.

Hows worthy worked out for the chiefs? How come passing yards per game are the lowest they’ve been in 20 years and yards per completion are at the lowest ever? WRs are getting behind the secondary less than ever. Teams need guys who can run short to intermediate routes more than ever because of the modern defensive schemes. Hall of fame qbs literally saying this must be “rookies” too.

Just because some random college sprinter made some pro bowls during Vietnam doesn’t mean shit in today’s NFL.

The canzio circle of life in full force today

This. If he can get off the line without being jammed. And I'm not sure if DBs will try to jam him b/c if they miss, he's gone. But if he gets off hte line, even a handful of plays a game you can use him to pull a safety help over to his side of the field and/or open up underneath routes.

I can tell you this without a doubt. If Al Davis were alive, this dude would probably be the Raiders 1st or 2nd round pick. Darius Hayward Bey....
HDB is one of the GOAT Gunners in NFL history. Hall of fame level gunner. Unironically.

Put some respect on that fast dude with big black biseps

Thompson is a midget, no strength, can run routes, has horrible vision, limited catching ability, and zero catch radius.

So you are saying 40 times don;t mean shit in TODAYS NEW IMPROVED NFL............hahahahaha~~~~

Dude, win the turnover battle, you can run and stuff the run, get to their QB while protecting yours, is football. That will never change

Add, you want TEAM SPEED because everyone is big, so you seperate with superior............speed.

And BS on seeing WR blow by a defense, they will always blow by a defense, ALWAYS.

Dude, your NFL is tiny isn't it?

The most important part of WR is playing leverage and route running. Outside of catching, obviously. Mack Hollins is a big body, but he sucks at WR, what he's good at is leveraging his high point and he's made a career as a #3 receiver with only being good at one thing. Explosives are not the average in the NFL. The explosives are meant to move alignments, they aren't meant to be the game plan.

You aren't getting this at all.

YES we have "possesion" receivers and "speed" receivers, ok?

You need both kinds, kinda like Csonka to bang the line while Mercury Morris attacks the edges,.

I am talking "speed" receivers ok? So cool this ...what a receiver needs, ok?

Thompson is a "speed" receiver.

Here ya go how things really are

Brenen Thompson is one of the fastest and most explosive receivers in college football. He epitomizes the phrase "field stretcher," reminiscent of 2023 Senior Bowl standout Tank Dell.
Thompson is a former high school sprinter who won the Silver medal in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.4. He won the Gold medal in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.27 as a Junior. Thompson is a threat to blow by most cornerbacks with or without a free release.
Beginning his career with the Texas Longhorns, he was a 4-star recruit in the 2022 class. Thompson transferred to Oklahoma before landing with Mississippi State and has enjoyed a breakout season.

That is what matters with this guy, ok? You bring him in to "field stretcher",,,,,,,,,,,,,,,ok?

Yes he is not a 15 and out cat, ok?

Sheesh~~~~~

No sir, you aren't getting it. That's fine. Maybe someday you'll watch enough football and understand it isn't 1980 anymore and everyone in the NFL is a great athlete.

You're the one who can;t figure out we have different skill sets for WR's, one needs to be Chris Carter the other Randy Moss.

Hard to believe you watch football at all.

What about this don;t you understand

It's beneficial to have the threat on the field. Going deep just a couple of times early in the game can change the way the opposing defense is playing. I'm all for BPA (OT or WR that is) in the draft, but we could use a burner on the roster for sure.

Rookies sheesh~~~~~

Chris Carter and Randy Moss were both great route runners, understood leverage, and could catch the fucking ball dude lmao

Everyone out on an NFL football field is a bad ass, they were the best in high school, among the best in college and now among the worlds best, all can play or they wouldn't be there.

So we need something that seperates these studs, enter...........................................SPEED.

Speedy edge rushers, Tyreek Hill, Jonathan Taylor a 10.33 cat, a QB who can escape a pass rush.

Those 40's we are about to see are just as important now has they have ever been, there will never come a time were......slow is good.

YES speed isn't the everything, it is however the most important thing.

Carter avg 12.6 a catch, Moss 15.6
Carter scored 130 TD, Moss at 156

What was the difference yep........speed.

Rams and their number 1 offense in the the league this year..

38 year old statue at qb
Kyren Williams - 4.65 40
Puka Nacua - 4.57 40
Davante Adams - 4.56 40

That SPEED really led them to the top of the league.

They wouldn’t have anything on Homer Jones tho

Think about a TE, there ya want a big guy who can block and catch a football, while he is similar to a receiver he must be different.

We see that same thing with receivers, some with the great hands, great route runners, then we have those who can outrun a cornerback they are there to strecth the field back off defenders which opens up that underneath stuff.

NO they aren't the same thing, ok?

If a team needs that "speed" receiver that 40 is a real big deal, if looking for a "possession" cat not so much.

Now compare that speed to what the Seahawks and Pats had, both with mobile QB;s.

Homer Jones was the first NFLer to spike the football, yep....daddy of THE SPIKE and the first player to return a kickoff to score on MNF.

Once beat Bob Hayes in an NAIA 200m.
