NFL Discussion v52: LOL Raiders

If they wanted to take a chance why not sign Sanchez, arguably just as good as schaub and younger.

Imagine if the raiders signed veldheer, houston, and then made a run at verner benett and raji That would be a more productive way to win now. Instead they're signing veterans who have nothing left for big money.

You have absolutely nothing but the wildest guess how much those veterans have left and those contracts don't approach "big money". Mid-level no-commitment contracts across the board.

Sanchez??? Raji??? Please.

On another note-Big Ben has been a douchebag meathead and that's well known. More than a few words have been said about it. Interesting agenda you've got going on though.

Sanchez wound be the best qb wearing a raiders uniform in quite fine time sadly enough.

Tuck going to start beating double teams all of a sudden? Woodly actually going to play?

The raiders over spend on players who won't move the needle. Dark they win one more game this year? Two?

The Cowboys defense is going to be so bad next year.

You like that fat scumbag? I keep hoping to hear he's died of a heart attack. All his show is about is him having a gigantic ego and telling off callers.

Yeah it's great. I try to call in when I have the time. He can be a dick but a lot of times it's funny. He's a straight shooter and really knows his shit. No one knows baseball, and probably basketball, like Mike. He hates the Jets though so it can be frustrating during football season.

Cowboys D can't really be any worse than last year. They didn't really have any money to spend, but they did get Henry Melton on the cheap and are in a good position to draft either Aaron Donald or Timmy Jernigan to pair with him. They've been pretty good at drafting too. Ware wasn't much help to them last season from the premiere pass rushing spot. Whomever they put at RDE could either be a surprise or almost as useless as Ware was.

Campbell and Palmer are better QBs than Sanchez IMO. The timing of Campbell's injury and Hue Jackson's aim to take total control over operations and bring in Palmer is what made a clusterfuck out of that situation. Flynn was obviously a mistake and a stain on McKenzie's reputation, fair enough.

Tuck and Woodley aren't superstars at this point in their careers but they haven't been beat down by injuries and again, those contracts aren't huge and there is no long-term commitment. It's easy and fashionable at this point to bash the Raiders because the organization has been inept for so long but objectively this FA period has been a net positive. Clearly Houston and Veldheer didn't particularly want to stay; if Oakland had overpaid for them that would have been the joke.

Seriously, which veteran contract do you see as overspending? They look like reasonable deals to me.

I don't think he knows that much. I think he's a classic example of if you sound cocky and arrogant people will believe you. I recall years ago him going on about certain players being better than so and so, and he wouldn't know certain top-notch players callers mentioned and just dismiss them. He'd be in love with certain mediocre players and proclaim them awesome, ie Nate McClouth and Brandon Inge.

I used to listen to him back in the day and I just couldn't stand that he's never had his ass kicked talking to people the way he does. He was so arrogant too; it's such a turnoff. Why are sports radio people arrogant? It makes no sense to me. They act like they are athletes themselves.

How do the Cowboys, with all their money miss out on so many chances to improve their D this year? Shit is so annoying.

There is this thing in the nfl called a salary cap that teams must follow and the cowboys have no room. Pay the fuck attention

Lol at incarcerated bob. You'd have a hard time finding a less credible source.

49ers gave up a 6th rounder for Gabbert, and I bet this chump praised them for it.

Lol probably. They clearly dislike certain teams/GMs/players. Last year it was Jeff Ireland and Daniel Thomas.

Francesa's very arrogant. He has no problem telling you he's been doing it for 25 years or that he's always #1 in the ratings. I've just learned to ignore him in those situations. But he definitely knows his stuff. He could give you Mickey Mantle's 1961 playoff numbers off the top of his head. Don't think anyone on radio has the historical knowledge he does.

The prank calls are great too. He must get at least 3 a day nowadays. And most of the time he has no idea people are fucking around.

One of my favorites.

Sixth round pick for a can. Not sure why you would even give something up for someone with no value.

Lol, how bout fucking off?

They have made enough moves and opened up enough money to sign a decent CB. Besides, you can break the rules when you are loaded.

because they are an inept franchise.
