I blast the star spangled banner while driving my pickup truck that has a bunch of stupid as fuck bumper stickers

You can't play that while driving. You have to stop driving, get out and stand up or Trump will deport you.

Because his country (and the soldiers who serve it) means more to him than a sports team?

No, because he chose to be the "outcast" and leave his teammates looking like shit when they collectively decided to stay in the tunnel. You think Rapistburger or Chickillo there with their hands over their heart wouldn't have wanted to show their respects as well? He could've stayed a few feet back with his mates and been just as honorable. I don't think you understand the camaraderie football players have. Yes, its not as comparable as your battle buddies, but its not just some "sports team" shit relationship you just threw out.

Again, as I said, he served 3 tours, so you can't fault him for doing what he did. I also can't fault his teammates, who stood a mere 10 feet behind him, giving him shit for it.

War room >>>>>>>>>

Thx Obama for ruining sports for me

I think it's a tricky situation for him to be in.

For me personally I would sail some friends I have known my whole life and some immediate family members down the river before I would some men I served with while in the service. Some type of respect and bond is there. Just the way it is.

And maybe for him that's amplified because of the track he took in the Army.

Its all been worth it, if only for this.

LOL! someone in the other thread made a comment about Ray always gotta be the one to go a bit further.

"Im taking TWO knees!" LOL

Great meme on ray lewis taking young black men's lives.

I'm done visiting ESPN website after that piece on Villaneunva.

Supposedly Jerry Jones is making the players stand for the anthem.

I have no problem with these guys wanting to protest something they believe in but I really wish they didn't do it during the National Anthem. I'm from a military family and it upsets many of the people in my life. I truly believe most of these guys are just looking for attention or are just jumping on a bandwagon and aren't true SJW's. I hope this all gets figured out as NFL ratings will continue to decline until it is.

Hmm, that's a little odd.

Can't fault the guy, serving 3 tours in the ME. It is a little shitty that he decided to go against his team mates and be the visible "outcast" here. I could understand and definitely wouldn't fault his mates giving him shit, after seeing this pic.
Hes the military posterboy for the nfl. They prob threatened to pull his commercial if he didnt go out there.

Compared to comrades in arms, it's nowhere close and I will dismiss it as such.

And I've played football and wrestled, I know sports team bonds. I am also 15 years currently on active duty, I can and will make the comparison.

Realistically, Villanueva could lose his retirement under the UCMJ for not doing what he did.

Communist

He's making millions now. Doubt he was worried about that.
So? He served his country why can't he stand for the anthem? This whole thing is fucking retarded. Want to sit on the bench or wait in the locker room and hide? By all means do it.

It's ironic that the team that "couldn't decide how to protest" lost the game. Maybe they should focus on playing the sport.

He's a man of honor and principles. He realizes he lives in a great country and it's sad that so many rich assholes take that for granted. I love that he wasn't bullied into doing the PC thing.
