Classless organization, that's why.
That's what I thought, fuckin scumbagsClassless organization, that's why.
I'm sure things have changed a lot in the 15 years since I left. But at the beginning of that season, I barely heard Pats talk on the sports radio, except for Friday and Monday. It was all Red Sox and Bruins/Celtics off-season. When those seasons started, all my friends at work were paying them way more attention. Same with my friends outside of work. That's all anecdotal, but it was my experience for the year+ I lived there (I moved there late in the previous NFL season and no one gave a shit about the Pats). The Bruins were pretty good that year and were getting a lot of love. When the Pats got to about 8 or 9 wins, all of a sudden, everything changed. That first SB was a way bigger deal then the Bruins or Celtics next Championships, maybe you weren't in the city to see those. I think the amount of success they've had will carry them through the post Belichick years though and they will be the #2 team in town no matter what, unless they turn into the Browns which i don't see happening. Its hard to say when Brady falls off, or what they do with Jimmy but I could see Belichick coaching 7-8 more years. Don't see them falling off a cliff any time soon and then by that time you're talking about "i remember 25 years ago when nobody cared".
The Celtics and Bruins may have been bigger then the Pats, but i don't see that ever being the case again if all teams are equally successful. The Pats started this whole new era of Boston sports Championships and yea i really don't see them becoming irrelevant again unless they turn into the Browns or Jaguars or something like that.
True. Lynch was a highly sought after GM candidate.Niners make some good hires, and the Raiders are back to being dysfunctional. Maybe the world is going back to the way it should be @PUO3
lol crazy that it's the most excited I have been for a hire since Harbaugh. Lynch could let some homeless pick for them like the Browns and still do better then Baalke. This Adam Peters smuck sounds pretty experienced though, 6 years as a Pats scout and 8 years as a Broncos Scout/Director. People say he was on the road to becoming a GM and execs thought highly of him.True. Lynch was a highly sought after GM candidate.
That shit is right on par with Johnny 8ball texting the Browns to draft him.
I guess just having fired a bunch of people would be the good news. I like Lynch, but I wouldn't exactly be excited to have someone with zero experience in that position. Now if they hired him as a DB coach I might be happy about that.lol crazy that it's the most excited I have been for a hire since Harbaugh. I don't expect Lynch to be some draft savant, but he seems to understand he can put good people in place to do it for him.
Ya all the commentators and what not seem to agree thats a quality pick up. I cant pretend to know NFL brass and whether or not its a good move. I honest to god think a good bit of drafting is just luck.lol crazy that it's the most excited I have been for a hire since Harbaugh. Watching the Pats/Hawks SB highlights on NFL Network. Like watching a brand new game. I was absurdly faded by halftime.

This is a reason why players should always take the deal for the most money. Owners will do anything to get money back or avoid paying more49ers taking action lately. Suing Aldon Smith to get the rest of their signing bonus back. He got 1.1m, paid back 884k, and they want the other 341k back. I always thought that owners suing over shit like this was petty, but I guess they didn't become filthy rich by paying for shit they didn't get.

PFT is a national treasure. As is this man

I would completely buy that the kids at that time and since have come up with very different sports interests than what dominated when I lived there. But at that time, it was not in anyway a football town.
I am going to post the Patriots hotel here on Saturday. Wake them up lmao
Yea a lot has changed in 15 years. Celtics are a couple games back of the 2 seed and the big radio shows (Felger & Mazz/ Zo & Bertrand) barely talk about them. Its literally Pats talk 75% the time, in season or out (although its heavy on the Sox between April-October).
You should. Think Belichick convinced the team that Pete Carroll himself was pulling fire alarms at their hotel during SB 49 week. Big bulletin board material guy.
Say's the Denver fanClassless organization, that's why.
Nobody answered the original question. Why is 58 not a retired number for KC? Do they just not do that?Say's the Denver fan![]()
