Part of that structure are the teammates in that locker room. They see everything we see. With these rumored demands before even being drafted, it feels like he could be ruffling feathers before he’s even on a team. If teammates don’t buy in, they can make a rookie qb look really bad, even if not on purpose.

Do you agree that bust rate has a lot to do with the situation they landed in….?

Lets just use some major examples for ease of discussion. Do you think David Carr sucked? Do you think Andrew Luck’s career would have been different elsewhere? Would Lawrence be a different player had he landed in a better situation? What would RG3 have accomplished if he didnt play for a team willing to ruin him in order to win a playoff game?

I get it, theyre rich either way and its awesome. But, their careers are so tied to the structure they land in, or lack thereof, its insane.
Bust rate probably coincides with where a player ends up and how they are expected to be but I’m talking about busts in general. A player drafted midway through the first round to a decent team and still ends up as a bust applies also.

Anyways, I am not sure what you expect the bad teams to do in your scenarios. The players you listed going to better teams and situations would only add less parity to the league making it top heavy, which isn’t a good thing. Sure those guys might have better careers somewhere else (no one knows though, it is all speculative) or maybe they do exactly the same on another team. Maybe Carr’s game wouldn’t have been any different for a different franchise? Who knows?

This is some low hanging fruit. So-called “reporters” desperate for clicks, pulling shit out of thin air from 5 years ago pretending it had something to do with this.
You can do this in hindsight with missed picks for every single team. Nothing new here lol

So that's why Elway lost all of those Super Bowls in the 80s. He willed those teams to the big games, but they were pissed about him ducking Baltimore so they played like shit.

Elway had the option to play baseball so he used that leverage to avoid going to a shit team. Great college players now have the leverage of getting bank and staying in school to avoid shitty NFL teams. Seems fair to me.

Its like you read only the words you want to see and make the rest up in your head so you can keep arguing. I’m not interested enough to try and follow your train of thought.

JaWalrus would have been the GOAT if he went to a better franchise.

Reminder Vince Young got drafted and the dude couldnt even read lmao

He's probably the smartest of this group

Keep arguing? This was my only comment on the subject. You said that professional athletes are going to play like shit because they don't like the QB. Sounds like a pretty fucking dumb reason for a guy to tank his own career.

Hope the bucs luck into Kam Kinchens at the draft

But they'll probably go o line from D 3 school...not that it's a bad thing

Like I said, you seem to read what you want. That not what I said at all.

Are we living in an alternate universe now where getting drafted as an athlete is new? Can’t tell if you are trolling or serious

<{MingNope}>
There are only 2208 positions in the NFL. Only about 96 quarterbacks if each team has 3.

It is not a crazy thought for players to want to know what hands their career is going to be placed into. Its absurd to find that offensive.

These guys’ careers, very very likely, depend on what situation they land in.
I agree with you but I don’t get how we can give players that power and then still have situations like the lions or Texans where they at one point were rock bottom, and no one would volunteer to play there, but they now have made the playoffs. For me, the turbulent league where teams are always rising and falling is part of the fun. If you give these guys a say, it becomes very difficult to keep the league so competitive.

Almost all sports like soccer, cycling, baseball etc where there’s no caps and guys might as well just pick a team end up with a few haves, and the rest are have nots

I am aware of only one guy who is allegedly using his leverage to avoid shitty teams in this draft. Even if there are more it would only be a select few. There will always be an incredibly small number of jobs with a massive amount of guys trying to get them. Maybe what Williams is doing will work, maybe it won't. Either way...
