Caleb Williams narrative is just a bunch of haters who didn't want him to win back to back Heisman's.
Like someone said, his team has done nothing to dispel these “rumors.” I did put “if” in my statements so if all this shit is false then I take it all back

I’m not siding with the bears in this instance. Them drafting him and him becoming a huge bust doesn’t benefit them at all lol.

I’m just on the side of earning what you get. Dude has zero snaps in the NFL and is demanding (unconfirmed) all of this nonsense.
Do you pick your employer or are you required to work for who picks you?

Comparing a normal job process to getting drafted as a sports athlete is pretty funny. If I were in his profession I wouldn’t be picking my employer.

If what you are implying was the accepted practice, every player drafted would demand to go where they want and shit would be a mess.

It is not a crazy thought for players to want to know what hands their career is going to be placed into. Its absurd to find that offensive.

These guys’ careers, very very likely, depend on what situation they land in.

I mean most normal people would consider it a privilege to be drafted in the NFL period…so forgive me for not feeling bad for a future millionaire being able to live out his dream as a professional athlete. Again, if every player demanded things and chose where they go, the draft would be a mess and it would never work.

Why does it matter what the profession is? Everyone should have some say on who employs them lol

Are we living in an alternate universe now where getting drafted as an athlete is new? Can’t tell if you are trolling or serious

Anyone who's elite at something gets to pick who they work for except professional athletes. I see nothing wrong with what JaCaleb is doing. It's actually smart.
Smart if it works. Dumb if it doesn’t and he doesn’t perform up to the higher standards he put on himself (if the demands are true).

To be clear, I am not against a player wanting or preferring to go to a particular team. It’s just the way he is supposedly going about it without even playing a snap. Being drafted by a team is just how it is, if the norm was players choosing or dictating where they go then I’d say good on em and go scorched earth with demands if that works.

No matter how good he was in college, he’s still a huge question mark.

Happens or used to happen all the time in baseball. Nothing wrong with using the little leverage he has left to make this demand. I don't think he'll stay another year at USC but Bears could actually bite.

It doesn't matter, the difference between him going first or second is like 150k. I'm not too concerned, I get to watch the Bears ruin a generational prospect baby.

Bears are going to get a kings ransom and still draft a top QB

Or fuck it all off maybe lmao

No doubt. I agree 100% when it comes to proven players is my main thing I guess. Proven player fighting for a contract can be as selfish as they want since they earned it. I have just seen so many busts that I have been turned off to unproven guys demanding shit. That’s just me

If they're busts its in their best interest to get the best position possible anyways, and the most money possible.

Yeah not disagreeing with that but leaving a team and its players in a worse position because they have to bend over backwards benefits no one but the bust. The franchise (whether you side with them or not), players, fans are the ones who lose.

Now as a bears fan I do see where you are coming from because they typically ruin players, so I get it.

Do you agree that bust rate has a lot to do with the situation they landed in….?

Lets just use some major examples for ease of discussion. Do you think David Carr sucked? Do you think Andrew Luck’s career would have been different elsewhere? Would Lawrence be a different player had he landed in a better situation? What would RG3 have accomplished if he didnt play for a team willing to ruin him in order to win a playoff game?

I get it, theyre rich either way and its awesome. But, their careers are so tied to the structure they land in, or lack thereof, its insane.
