SF also just blew the doors off their opponent with their QB throwing 130/1.

Anyone who actually believes you cant win on the ground is a moron.
RBs still easy to find, more about team/scheme <Gordonhat>

Is it easier to build an entire roster or to find one true bell cow?

Several things need to go right in both instances.

Matt Miller is a clown. Dude is a "expert" but doesn't even follow his own team. Example 2,405,501

Sweet insight Matt, tune into a game and you would know Armstead has started at DE every game this season and probably has 65-70% of his snaps there.

Is a bellcow going to produce behind a bad OL? Maybe

So douchebag Edelman got arrested on Saturday. Lmao

What this dude has done the last 10 weeks or so is one of the most, if not the most, dominant stretch Ive ever seen from a RB. The craziest part is that hes done it to some really, really good teams/run defenses. And so often his big runs are made on his own without huge openings to run through.

He legitimately looks like a comic book character running the ball with defenders bouncing off of him. Its ridiculous.
Haven't seen anything like it since AP was in his prime and winning games himself. It's ludicrous. On one of his big runs, some ~350lb DT hit him in the legs, right at the line, and bounced off like he was a child. Makes zero sense

Analytics crowd is really getting dragged over the "running the ball doesn't matter, only passing does" takes. Titans just knocked off the Pats/Ravens with Tanny throwing for 80 yards per game lol
Ohh man i love it. It was astoundingly stupid then, and it's just as stupid now

In his podcasts, Dan Carlin talks a lot about the human element of war, and how it makes many war plans look stupid. There's no way to quantify the physical toll it takes on people, and thus plans go right to shit. This is an extreme comparison, but i feel it works because those morons don't think about how running the ball efficiently beats the absolute shit out of defenses. Oline is now smashing into people that are used to doing the smashing, and then defenders need to run directly into another huge human being? Do that after a couple quarters and they're toast

Numbers and percentages can't quantify how Can Fran put a stamp on that game after they ran the ball down a proud defense's throat. Game over, get your shit, time to go home

Titans o-line has taken heat for the better part of this year. Obviously a difference between run blocking and pass blocking, but there were many times theyve been a liability.

So ya. Both can be done successfully. There are many ways to build a good team.

Big time - Seahawks have always been able to run the ball, can't pass block for shit. Niners OL is wayyyyy better at run blocking then pass blocking.

I think the interesting question will be - Do you pay Derrick Henry? Obvious answer is yes, especially if he continues this huge postseason.

He isn't near the 30 year old mark that RBs fall off yet, but kid has put up monster carries (had a 395 carry year at Bama).

I think the Titans would have to be absolute idiots to not pay that man. You dont just find the very best players and you dont just replace them.

You also dont just change the identity of a team and start winning again.

I think like half that roster is set to be FAs this year, going to have to let a few guys go. I'm sure they pay him, but giving a RB 15M+ is going to hurt especially with Tanny due to be paid at the same time.

I agree. I'm all for paying RB's that are top shelf. But true, top flight RB's are rare. Lots of guys have one or two great seasons then become regular guys.

Henry and McCaffrey came out of the same draft class. They're going to run this league for the foreseeable future.

I haven't looked at any Ravens box scores this season but Lamar threw the ball 59 times and rushed 20 times

Thats kinda ridiculous imo

Putting that much pressure on a QB with 0 playoff experience

Yep. Down 2 scores and the best rushing team of all time completely abandons the run.

Bills need a bruising RB like Henry to pair up with Singletary.

I thought you might like this friend.

Just not the result I expected lol I don't mind Tennessee or Baltimore, and in those cases I will always root for the underdog

But it didn't look like Tennessee was the underdog last night, that was just kind of wild. Lmr got beat by a QB who actually was a WR lol and RBs matter again!

Pretty sure no Analytics guy says that when you can guarantee running for 7ypc.Pretty sure that's actually valuable.
