Nobody is comparing careers. Obviously Kirk has had the better career but it's obvious by how much better Sam is with the Vikes than with the Jets that a large portion of that issue was the organization he was with being a shithole. Sam is better than Kirk in 2024, no doubt about that. Sam is better at least as good if not better than Kirk in his last full season with the Vikes if better than Kirk was in any of his seasons with the Vikes.

I dont know how you managed to watch the entirety of Zimmer's stint as the vikings HC and not think the guy was a bumbling retard half of the time. The dude was a defensive guru who consistently put out subpar defenses and couldn't develop DB's despite that being his specialty.

The guy constantly ruined his own special teams year after year and it was Cousins fault. All because of one season with a play where a Saints defender fucked up and allowed the Vikings to get blown out by the Eagles.

The mental gymnastics youre performing to justify some terrible opinion is really something.

Kirk's first year the Vikings had probably at top 3 defense and Kirk put up lesser numbers than Sam has this season. That was with Dalvin Cook, Diggs, and Thielen. Even the next season the defense wasn't bad and they went 10-6, Kirk maybe had his best season as a Viking while under Zimmer. You're whole thing about blaming Zimmer is stupid. First three seasons they had two years with a good defense, he had weapons to throw to on offense and an good RB. He had one of his better seasons under Zimmer so it's B as in B and S as in S.

Yes, and he had a terrible offensive line. I guess Riley Reiff and Tom Compton are now great offensive linemen right? Kirk had his best season last year, and it was cut short. Weapons don't mean shit if you don't have a mother fucking offensive line. Offensive lines allow for consistency. How many years did guys like Matthew Stafford or Matt Ryan struggle due to awful offensive lines? Russle Wilson is another example of inconsistency due to bad lines. This shit tracks throughout the league with few exceptions. Even then, Cousins was a top 10 QB in his first year under Zimmer, no questions about it. The only year he wasn't was 2019. THE ONLY YEAR. The same year he was still a top half QB at worst.

Idk if you've noticed, but his "good teams" under Zimmer and his "bad teams" under Zimmer he has similar production. Maybe he was the consistency in Minnesota and not the head coach. The only fault of Kirkochainz is that he isn't Josh Allen or Mahomes or Aaron Rodgers. I guess he just sucks.

But how did he have his best season as a Viking with a shit OL & terrible HC? He was better that season that he was with KoC or in Washington. Explain.

I mean, I understand you're Bears fan and don't really know what a good QB looks like but....

Well, if you watched him play you would know how he operates. When he runs play action hes one of the best. So when he's in rhythm and is able to run his offense he produces. When he can't it sputters. It's a lot like what happens with Sam Darnold this season except the offense doesn't completely shit the bed.

When he was on the Redskins he had seasons where all of his Oline or all of his WR's were hurt. Not even using hyperbole. He still produced. Implementing a new system in Minnesota in his first year under KOC Cousins did well when you take that into consideration. This was a team, that was stripped down and was supposed to rebuilding. You probably listen to that dumbfuck Paul Allen who kept spouting it was a soft rebuild. This was the same organization who's GM threw Cousins under the bus the first week of training camp.

I don't know what you want to say by "better" at this point. Cousins has better footwork, pre and post snap reads, and anticipation than Darnold. Darnold is a better athlete and has a stronger arm. That's it. Sam Darnold is having a good year and is bolstered by great coaching and talent around him. This Vikings team isn't supposed to be producing how they are. It's an aberration, thats why nobody had this winning 11 or 12 games.

Kirk benefited from all the same stuff with the Vikes as Sam and Sam is performing better. The biggest difference is Sam is making more big time throws. Less prone to check down when he doesn't have to and of course his mobility is huge. Kirk was and always has been abasically an old school statute QB. Sam can run, he can move around in the pocket better. He throws on the move better, actually.

I'm not saying Sam is a lot better than Kirk at his best but he has been better to this point. I think it would have been fine if the Vikes kept Cousins but you can't pay him like he's a top QB when he's top 12 at best. Part of the reason the defense is better this year is because they're not paying Kirk. By letting him and Hunter go they were able to pickup Greenard, VanGinkel, Cashman, Gilmore, Aaron Jones, and Sam Darnold. That's clearly an upgrade over Hunter and Cousins alone. So with Cousins it was always over paying for what you got.
