What the hell did he ever do to get so many chances?

Get drafted high. Had he been drafted in the 5th round or lower the dude would be out of football of course.

I gotta think if they saw anything in Lance that he would have been starting before Rush. The players in teh locker room know who the best QB is on the team, you can't fool them.

I guess but even so its not like he did a lot in college is it? Maybe I'm mixing him up with someone else

Dumb ass Cowboys should've taken the 64 yard field goal

I can understand taking the penalty and trying to get the TD. But once it's 4th down, why would you not kick it, take the 3, and keep it a 1 possession game? I cannot understand that at all.

Nope, you got the right guy. Shanny and Lynch traded a bunch of picks to jump up and get a guy who played 19 games in college. They are damn lucky they got Purdy in that draft. They gave away a ton for Lance and it could have been one of those moves that criples a team/draft for 2 years.

So the Jets are going to rebuild their team with Rodgers? That's a dumb move.

This isn't about Rodgers

He's getting fired because the owner, who is a massive dipshit, held onto one good deal. He convinced the owner they were a QB away from contending, and maybe last year that could have been the case. Joe Douglas failed to build a competent, balanced team, and held onto a lame duck head coach for far too long.

That's what happens when the GM and coach tie their careers to a 40 year old QB who is more concerned with being a smug hippie than playing football.

But my point was now they have to build around him now. Not sure how that is possible when you have a old, immobile QB and no good backup QB's. The GM is going to have their own ideas and philosophy on football. It's not like Atlanta where the have an old QB but will eventually play Penix.

No they don't, he has 1 year left on the contract assuming he picks it up. If anything, they can draft a QB and sit them a year behind Rodgers. You're right, the new GM is going to have his own ideas. They aren't going to be building for a superbowl. They're going to be building to compete in 2 years instead of next year. They have 2 RBs and a premium WR locked up. Tyron Smith can be traded and they can rebuild the line with a new QB. The question is who is the new GM and who is he going to bring in as a HC. The Jets aren't in a terrible position aright now assuming they can get 3 years of a young QB with pillars signed.

Good points. In thinking about what you said it won't matter what happens with Rodgers because worst case scenario he is done after next year and if he plays bad who cares if they bench him. The main goal now is to draft at least a decent QB in what I hear is a weak draft class. There is no way they get Sanders and it's doubtful they get Ward either.

Quinn Ewers is more than capable, I think his skillset is best equipped for the NFL. Milroe is a great college QB, and there are scouts really high on him. I'm personally not. The absolute worst case is they draft Drew Allar as a project. You don't need to use a first rounder on QB, and depending on next year, if they tank the season and get a #1 they can just draft Archie.

Float a second on Dillon Gabriel

Whether it's old man Rodgers or some pimply faced rookie; the Jets better fix that o-line in the offseason. They aren't sniffing the playoffs until they do so.
