Yeah I watched Wilson beat the Niners for years using a similar skillset that I saw Purdy employ in the 4th.

Nearly every stat I've seen all season long has had the Niners in the bottom half of the league when it comes to pass blocking. PFF has the Lions as the #2 rated offensive line in the league. It's not like we're taking about two top 5 rated lines.

The Niners line can run block but they can't pass block outside of Trent Williams.
Lol @ PFF

Outside zone generally has weaker pass pro because the inside gaps are usually opened for the run look. That's not a bad line, that's by design. Zone run in general isn't going to make your offensive line look as good in pass pro.

So he's mid

thx
As you've made clear in exchanges over the past month, you are clearly attached to a belief that you possess acute knowledge of the game that lends value to your analysis transcending statistical markers. Yet you've cast aspersions on Brock's postseason performances when the statistics indicate precisely that: his performance in the last two games, overall, has been subpar. The PFF website you hate graded his performance last week against the Packers his second worst all year behind the 4-INT game. Yet it's what doesn't show up on the stat sheet that matters. He led the Niners to 27 points in the second half, and pulled off the biggest second half comeback in NFC Championship history. He didn't turn the ball over. He made big plays, including with his legs, every time it really mattered. And in doing so became the third youngest QB in history to make the Super Bowl, and only the 7th sophomore QB to make it there.

Ironic. Maybe Fred Warner put it best.

No, as you've been illiterate over the past month, you're looking at statistics topside down looking for confirmation bias. He didn't lead them to shit. He got a good chunk of the yardage off a completely fluke play. He did well when he used his legs to gain yardage, and that's good play. That's not indicative of good QB play, or why he's getting unwarranted praise as a top QB in the league. When you throw out throwing statistics but have to back it up with rushing yards you unironically don't see the problem with the previous analysis.

The team had 27 points in the second half. Brock didn't lead shit. He almost threw key possessions away multiple times. Now I don't expect every bad ball to be intercepted, but that's another factor you can't account for. Sometimes things break your way, sometimes they don't. That's not indicative of him being a top QB either. He didn't put the ball in perfect positions and it showed. He still lacks arm strength and he still throws off his back foot into coverage. Luckily for him, he has elite weapons everywhere so he doesn't need to play perfect.

As my previous post stated, he's a whiter version of Tua. We've seen Shanahan have success with Jimmy G, Nick Mullins, etc. When he had elite level talents, like RG3 and Cousins, he thrived even with dead receivers or dead o-lines. This is a Shanahan system success. Not a Purdy success.

You can't with a straight face, tell me that Purdy is somehow better than Josh Allen or even Matthew Stafford. You can't say with a straight face he's better than Jared Goff, despite the result last night.

Then why were Darnold's stats so much worse than Brock's? Why were they better with the Carolina Panthers last year than with the 49ers this year?

I just hear a bunch of whining and excuses for why outcomes never conform to your predictions or analysis.

Because Sam Darnold played on objectively fucking awful teams.

Sam Darnold hasn't gotten first team reps all year and had to play a good defense. Had no left tackle and someone else was missing too. Idk, kinda hard to be as successful when you don't get the same practice. That's not even taking into account the damage done to Darnold's development and mental game. I'd be willing to bet Purdy is better off there.

Edit: Btw - the standard of being a good QB went from me saying Jared Goff to you saying why is Darnold so much worse. That's a completely dishonest comparison lol

I can see the writing on the wall. Chiefs are gonna win the SB. The NFL will make sure of that. The whole Tay Tay hoopla around the Chiefs and Kelce. The NFL is gonna want to capitalize on her massive popularity. Maybe the Chiefs win and then Taylor comes to the field to celebrate with Kelce, and then he pops the question? That would add even MORE eyes to the SB and the NFL. News media would be running with it for weeks. So yeah, Chiefs will win. It's a lock.

(Btw, go Niners)

Less time to pass is less time to pass whether it's designed or not. Either way I was just saying Purdy had less time to pass. Or at least I think that's what we were initially talking about lol
