To be fair to Jackie, he somewhat acknowledged mistakes (not to my satisfaction, really, but more than 90% of people here would do).

It's a correct statement of settled fact. The only study that has gone against the consensus on that had serious problems. I don't think it's *safe* to say that unauthorized immigrants lower wages in specific industries. It's *possible* that under some circumstances, it can have a negative impact on wages in specific industries (a largely irrelevant point, BTW). If you want to be really safe, "unauthorized immigration has minimal to no impact on native wages" is the most defensible statement you can make on the issue (also, that "minimal" impact is more likely positive than negative).

I agree, and it's crucial for members of the same tribe like TS to speak up and push back the craziness from their tribal leaders when it gets out of hand instead of quietly condoning it. :)

We have a $600 state stimulus in California, but it's the same ammount for everyone who pay taxes, despite of their immigration status. I think that's much more sane than New York.
 
Considering the shit they have had to deal with while trying to become "legal" citizens (if there is such a thing), I have no problem with it.

This is fucking ridiculous. American citizens are getting screwed and didn't even get the $2k checks that Democrats ran on in battleground states like Georgia. They got a $600 check and then a $1400 check instead of a separate $2k check like promised. But illegal immigrants can get over $15k in some cases. Completely ridiculous. It's like Democrats want to lose. PS - It's possible in some cases that American citizens got an amount that equaled or exceeded the maximum amount given to illegal immigrants, via unemployment payments, stimulus checks, etc.

Isn't this stunt illigal? Besides being totally insane, I don't think it's legal. The people behind it can get sued (and definitely should). I see people leaving the democratic party in droves.

I highly doubt it's illegal. It's a matter of state budgeting. It might be illegal to do on a federal level, hence why stimulus checks are for citizens only. Also unemployment checks at the state level are for citizens. So I suppose those are illegal to give to illegal immigrants. But they found a legal end around. With polarization, I think if anything, more people are becoming either Republicans or Democrats. I think the people who left the Democratic Party in droves were mainly conservative voters in the South who were registered Democrats because of tradition, but had been voting Republican for decades anyway. They just recently made the move official, but it doesn't really change anything.

I watch Bill Maher religiously every Sunday on HBO. Even he is outraged at the new left. They showed how even millennials who are sick of leftist cancel culture and toxic virtue signalling are leaving the democratic party in droves. Some crazy stunt like this in NY must be the last straw for many of people. I think people are leaving the democrats much more than you give credit. Even little old me, who used to be a total centrist, voted for Andrew Yang, has now been forced to the right of the political spectrum.
 
I don't see a problem here. Why not give away America to foreigners? If you are a hard working, law abiding, productive person who loves his family and contributes to his community leftists have a very special message for you: "FUCK YOU!!!".
