I am under the impression it’s what the Vatican is using as a mascot for the year of 2025?

This is true to some extent. But not every year will be a jubilee year. Traditionally it's every 50 years but the last one was like 9 yrs ago. They really want that merchandising profit.

Good catch. In Italian luce means light. Lucifer means literally the light bringer (portatore di luce). Naming a character luce is pretty wild. Vatican doing Vatican things
