I mean it's not the worst. Shavkat probably has a fight to promote. He even beat Garry and in his other fights he looked much better than Garry's wins. His next fight will tell us more what kind of condition he's returning in.

While I admire Garry's activity compared to the rest of the division, he's going to be last pick. I'll even say he almost lost to Prates the last round and even that MVP fight could've swung the other way, Garry really scraped by. WW is really fucked up right now, so you have to treat rankings as a transition phase right now.

He's had a rough time of it, but he's been keeping his losses even with his wins. Magny's ranked wins in this same period included Neal and Rodriguez. He did fall out of the rankings after the Prates loss though

Garry deserves the title shot tbh...I'm not a fan but between Shavkat going through an injury and hopefully not too much emotional trauma in a fatal car accident (no joke to see friends dead in front of you) I am wondering if he's still the same Shavkat and how often he can fight.

I have no issue if Morales gets the title shot but if it's Usman or some joke like this it'll be ridiculous. Also not so sure Usman is the easy fight that Ali wants for Islam.

Islam V Garry should be next which means the UFC wont do it

Exactly. We can usually tell when the UFC does this, that the fighter rising in the ranks has an upcoming fight.

This probably means Shavkat will fight soonish.

The part that really bothers me is that the rankings move without Shavkat fighting or Garry losing.

That literally makes no sense. It just proves that the UFC rankings are garbage and completely arbitrary, to be manipulated at their whim.

Yeah, never rewatching the fight again, but Shavkat barely scraped by. Atleast Garry was given his rank with that fight in mind. Still did enough for the judges to give to Shavkat, so ranking makes sense. Although, I feel like an activity based ranking system would more fairly have Garry over Shavkat.

Yeah, it's used to promote the next bigger fight. If Usman gets a title shot watch him get boosted. I'm a little worried about Shavkat's return, was supposed to be end of last year, now we still don't have anything close.
