So basically, started training 4 weeks ago at an MMA gym, was hoping to train for enjoyment and to lose weight! I'm definitely enjoying it so far its great, but as far as weight loss is going I'm seeing none, in fact on the scales the weight has increased! I look leaner definitely, so am I retaining water or building lean muscle or something else entirely ? Also, any stretches yous would recommend for doing in the house to increase leg flexibility ? Any help would be much appreciated to either question, cheers folks x

You can lose some weight from your training but most weight loss comes from diet. ive seen runners gain weight while marathon training because they think their training means they can eat whatever they want and they start taking in more than they are burning off.

Not sure about stretches but things like agile 8 and limber 11 work well for lots of athletes.

You probably developed some lean mass... very little i suspect. Do your pants fit loosely compared to 4 weeks ago?

Comes down to diet...

I lost weight doing 4 nights a week of bjj and MT. About 7 pounds in 2 months. All about the calories in vs calories burned.
