New Sprawl Review

Really? It should be working... I guess I'll have to find another host. I posted using YAHOO now, should work.
 
Na, it's a university server... Sometimes stuff like that will restrict off campus IP's. I uploaded using yahoo now, so it should work.
 
I just ordered some of these and will review them once I get them and train in them a bit.
 
Great. I hated the new camos when they came out but they do look better in those photos than on the site though.Thanks for the reviews guys.
 
i'll get my review up ASAP. I got a new job and had a fight recently (which the new camo was a major hit by the way) I am at work now and can't type so as soon as I get time i will get some pics up and get a review. Thanks SPRAWl for an AWSOME product and the shorts :)
 
wow those are really nice..if i didnt need to pay rent and already have 12 pairs of shorts i would love them, there by far the nicest sprawls i have seen
 
I'm thinkin about getting these too. My only concern is the fit. How's the length? I'm lookin for a pair of shorts that hangs around the knees. Also, for those of you that already got yours, since the drawstring and velcro seem to be pretty effective, think it would matter if i went a couple sizes up? I like my shorts a little baggy and according to the size chart on the website..

a 36 waste size is ideal for someone who's between 180-205.

Well, I weigh around 222 so I'm wondering I'd be able to get away with the 38.

hmmm I don't know, I wear a 38 comfortably, if you think you can get away with you usually can with a 38 or 40. theres ALOT of give with the SPRAWL shorts since 2006 have had elastic waiste and drawstring. I am 94-95kg right now which is 206lbs (if u go by 2.2lbs per kg) and I wear either of 38 or 40s. You can go a size or 2 up and be fine from what would be considered "true-to-size". I am the same as you, I like the baggyness which is why i go with 40s most time.

Length will vary relative to body type. Mine hang right above my kneecaps, maybe on top of them a little. Perfect length for these type of shorts.

For reference, I'm 180, and in between 5'10 and 5'11 and I wear a size 34.
 
I haven't been able to roll in my new Sprawls yet because I've been sick but here are my first impressions.

The primary construction is that of a two-way stretch fabric. It has very little elasticity but it does stretch to some extent. More than anything, I believe that flexibility is inherent to help prevent any rips or tears because the shorts are otherwise very billowy. From the waist to the thigh, the entire garment is crafted with a very loose fit.

The waist is extremely friendly to those who fluctuate in weight. I ordered a size 36 and believe the shorts could easily fit someone with a size 38 waist. In fact, I had to tighten the draw string as far as I could for a secure fit. This comes in contrast to my 36" Nogi shorts whose sizing is extremely exact.

The slits in the exterior panels appear to primarily be for esthetic purposes. Given the shorts flowing nature and wide legs, I can hardly foresee a time the panels would be tested. Additionally, the stitching is fantastic. I have not noticed a single loose thread nor do I think any will spring loose during their intended use.

If any canucks are interested, the delivery time for me in Nova Scotia was 1 week. Duty was around 15 bucks, I think.

The weights are just guidelines for waist sizes. For example, I am over 6'3" tall and weigh 250+ and I ordered 38s and they're just fine (I have some 40s and they were a little loose in the waist. Both pairs are split seam, which I understand fit looser overall.

I'd offer a review, but I ordered last year's model on clearance.
 
I won the contest and chose a pair of Tan 32 split seams:

I received them about a week and a half after the contest and WOW what more can I praise about them that hasn't already been said?

The flex panel in the crotch was a fantastic addition, they have a good amount of leg room for me and I can do the splits in them with no discomfort whatsoever.

They are very light and you almost can't even feel them. The stitching is excellent and appears it will hod up very well no matter what physical activity will be done in the shorts.

The choice to stitch the SPRAWL logo onto the waist of the 2007 model made me glad I got them instead of the oft-criticized rubber variation. The waist enclosure is excellent, the velcro looks like it will not be a hindrance while rolling as there is sufficient coverage over the area.

All in all, FANTASTIC shorts and they are another thing SPRAWL can brag about when it comes to their quality. I'd once again like to thank SPRAWL for their kindness towards us Sherdoggers and running a contest for their excellent products.
 
I got my sprawl V-flex Desert camo's last week and yesterday I trained with them for the first time.

I don't know what to say.. These shorts are definitely worth the hype. They are light as a feather, and the fabric is very comfortable, yet it seems to last very well. They are so light and comfortable that you hardly notice them when rolling with them.

I'm 6'3" 210 pounds I took size 38" and while I could've taken size smaller, with the waist band system I can make these fit perfectly. So if you wonder what size you are, it doesn't matter that much anymore.

I don't really need the mouth guard pocket... atleast not now when it's winter up here, but it seems like a great idea. If you want to wear these on the beach you can keep your credit card and cell phone and keys there.

Wether you want to grapple, throw high kicks or knees, these shorts are not going to hold you down.

I agree, although I like my beige/brown ones too.
