Hi I am going to start off with some pics for those of you who might want to see them ASAP. I am going to train in them tonight, and will post my thoughts tomorrow.

All I can say for now is wow, great shipping time. They got to me here in Canada (Ontario) faster than I could have imagined. I expected to be a week or so behind everyone else who won the contest.

First pic is a reference for length, width etc. and a color base. Pictured with the new sprawls is a pair of black cagewalks (split seam) size 33 and a pair of truth 2.1's size 32 (closed seam).

Mouthguard pocket - slightly bigger than the one you get in cagewalks. and more or less the same spot. Yep Foz its huge.

Just had a 2 hour training session. Loved the shorts! Being used to my cagewalks as my main training shorts this was a very nice upgrade!

Sizing: I probably could have worn a 32, the 34's closed up nicely without having to bunch them up and look stupid. I have a 32 in the Truth's and I wouldn't be able to go any smaller. So if that helps anyone with sizing....

Mouth guard pocket: again with the cagewalks which I believe are just like the original sprawls - the pocket is much smaller and hard to get my mouth guard in and out of. However on the new sprawls it is very big! as you can see in the pictures. Out of habit I didn't use it tonight - the back of my ear worked just fine. I will try to remember to give it a try tomorrow.

Split seam: I think I could have gotten away with the closed seam and been just as comfortable. There was plenty of leg room, we mostly did knee's tonight from the clinch, it felt as if they shorts weren't even there. When on the ground I didn't notice them riding up very high. I don't like when shorts end up all bunched up, these did come up some, but not enough to bother me.

Waist and Closure: I felt a little bit of irritation from the closure at first - but a couple of adjustments and all was good. I would say even if I couldn't have adjusted the closure to stop the rubbing of the closure, it wasn't major - just an observation. The closure system was gravy, I am sure most of you are familiar with it.

Overall fit and finish: Easily my new favorite shorts. A few people at the gym commented on them and mentioned that they need to get some. I actually like the digital camo much more in person than what you see on the internet. The shorts are very light and you can hardly even tell you have them on. I wear them over top of Shock Dr. compression shorts and cup. The sprawl website mentions an improved cut to fit over cups better. This is my first pair of Sprawls so I dont have a reference to the old ones - but these easily showed less of a "bulge" My Truths make it look like I am smuggling grapefruits, the cagewalks lets say oranges, and with these new sprawls probably be accused of a grape or two if anything.

I would like to thank Sprawl for the freebies. I hope I have done them some justice with this review. If anyone has any questions or would like to see any other pics just let me know.

Thanks Sprawl. :icon_chee

jeebus christ that mouthguard pocket is huge lol.

they look much better in those photographs than on the site. very cool!

Let us know how they go.

Does anyone really use the mouthguard pocket?

Thanks for the pics

on the original original sprawls yeah I did, but it was a pain to get it in sometimes. I think the pocket shrunk a bit on the 2006 models, but i never tryed jamming my guard in there. I'll def use it when I get a pair of these new models in the future.

nice, cant wait to get mine. hopefully everyone else is getting theirs too

in any case, the mouthgard pocket looks way bigger. i just used the pocket in my other sprawls to throw my ID and debit card in when i went running or training without a place to put my stuff. multi purpose pocket

I just got mine today (dark green camo). I will get a review with pictures up by this weekend when there is open mat time (otherwise I'll take pics in some random room). My first impression is that they are awesome, very adjustable, look WAY better in person, etc. I'll save it for the official review, I'll probably just tack it onto this thread.

I just got the green camo in yesterday, wore them to the gym today. I was suprised at how fast they came. I ordered them last monday and they made it to my door in Alberta tuesday. And yes, they do look better in person than on sprawls website.

great customer service. I had a follow up order and they sent me the digi camo shorts right away not even waiting for my follow up order which I'm getting free shipping on. can't say enough good things about this company.

Those do look a lot better in than the pics on the site. Thanks.

(Sorry if the pics are slightly blurry/grainy, my cam is a pos)

Well I just received my Sprawl's a few hours ago and got about an hour of MT work on the bag.

Upon opening the package I was very impressed by the material and stitching. Very strong and smooth material.

I had absolutely no problems at all throwing high/low/mid kicks and it almost felt like I wasn't wearing any shorts.

The mouthguard pocket seemed easily accessible by me and very useful imo.

I haven't had a chance to roll in these yet and won't for a few weeks due to some minor surgery on my back tommorow, but once I do I'll update this review.

I give these shorts a 5/5 rating and recommend them to anyone that is looking for a nice, quality pair of shorts.

My only complaint would be that Sprawl accidently sent me Size 32's instead of 34's, but it's all good :)

Thanks Sprawl!

I need to get me some of these.

Though Sprawl needs to get more colors in closed-seam! I actually like the digi-camos and will prob get those, but if they get the dark greens and the new brown in CS I'll be all over those too.

I got my pair of the digi camo close seam and they are great. The only problem I have is the 32's I got are bigger than the 32's I have of the green split seam ones. But they do look way better in person

I received mine as well today. Excellent delivery time and customer service. I will add a review to this thread when I get to go train soon.

Thank you very much SPRAWL.

Alright, I got a chance to do some limited activity in my new sprawls... Since I am still nursing a shoulder which was partially dislocated, I was unable to do REAL live wrestling/jiu-jitsu, but I got to drill a little and hit the thai bag to my heart's content.

I have the XT series shorts (split leg)

Aesthetics- I was very critical of the new camo colors when I saw the first pictures. Upon receiving the dark green digi camo, I was very impressed. They look great and the dark brown trim really flows well with the shorts. The logos are all tastefully done, and overall, I think it's a great color (couldn't be happier).

Fit- I was unsure exactly how well it would fit me, or how well it would secure to my body. I received a size 34 which is exactly what I wear for wrangler jeans. Fit perfectly, the drawstring holds the shorts right where they need to be, and the velcro system provides the little extra support that basically glues these shorts to your waist. They look like they have the advertised room for a cup as well...

Comfort- VERY comfortable. I was skeptical about the velcro, thinking it would scratch up my belly and be a pain in the butt. Not true! The material is WAY lighter and more breathable than any pair of athletic shorts I've worn before. Not only do I notice a significant weight difference, but the split seams work very well. I thought they would look fruity and be useless, but I think it just makes absolutely sure you are unencumbered. The flex panel on the bottom does it's job well, leaving your movement completely uninhibited. When I was high kicking, shooting, etc it felt like I had nothing on. BIG step up from the crappy basketball shorts I was using, and I can't see it getting much better than this.

Quality- lives up to sprawls reputation. Shorts have good stitching and the materials are perfect for MMA shorts.

Summary- They look good, they feel good, they are made well, and Sprawl really has their act together. Took very little time to mail me the shorts, envelope was heavy duty so the product was safe, and they give people the opportunity to win their stuff for free!

THANKS SPRAWL! GREAT PAIR OF SHORTS!
