Bellator tournaments took too long, most a year sometimes over so you didnt care by the end. This is WAY too short. I mean 3 fights in like 4 months plus you cut the prize down? Prospects or lower guys yeah ok they might not have a choice and 500k plus purse is worth it but are the big names gonna do it? If they do its gonna be one and done, is Mix or Eblen, Corey Anderson etc gonna have that schedule? Then you're gonna def have injuries and guys who cant continue that soon, its too quick of a turnaround. Would expect them to adjust in a second season.

I don't think they are hoping big names do it. If one or two named fighters decide to, I think they're fine with it. They had a hard time getting named guys before when it was a million and it didn't go well for most of them. Which hurt the value of named fighter the PFL just over paid to get. It seems like they really want these tournaments to be more of proving ground. Which 500K means a lot more to them than a Pettis for example. Then take the top performers from the tournaments and move them to the stand alone events and try to make stars.

I'd just assume they're getting added to whatever other cards the PFL throws at us like the Champions Series, Super Fights, Europe, whatever.

I know it's kind of a beaten down joke now but it really does look like Bjorn-era matchmaking with extra countries.

Single elimination never works as too many fall out because of injury and we got elbows back so will be injuries. So must bring back old fighter that fell out or bring in fresh guy which will be hard but they should have a couple alternate guys on Standby.

I can't believe I'm saying this but I miss Phil Davis. I always wondered how he would have done in the Bjorn system. Guess we'll find out soon.

Gotta respect Impa. He has fought 10 times for the PFL in the past two years. For comparison, Paulo Costa has 10 UFC fights in 8 years. Guys like Van Steenis, Babene, Cooper, Edwards, and Rosta would be cool in the tournament too.

Unless they put that hypejob Duombe in the WW tournament, I can't say I care much about it.

I would really like to see Ilima-Lei Macfarlane come back for WFLW. She would be fun under the tournament system. Same with Denise Kielholtz.
