New method of calculating GOAT status

So does divisional strength factor in? Strength of the era they fought in? And it sounds like you’re saying robbery wins still count for points

I also don’t know why cruz wouldn’t be at 67 points as a baseline since that’s where the 135ers were at the time, the WEC

the subjectivity of the quality of wins is also up for a lot of debate. I don’t think jones beating machida is particularly impressive when jones had 20 pounds on him, and how good is GSPs win over BJ Penn in their second fight, since he also had a massive weight advantage over penn, about 17-18 pounds?

and what about really good non title wins? Top 5 wins in the build up to your title shot? They obviously shouldn’t be on the same level but I think we should consider them

Gustaffson came in with wins of Matyushenko, Thiago Silva and Shogun and he's an 8 quality opponent? Rampage an 8, Shogun a 9. Looks like you're valuing all those LHW wins extremely high.
Rampage is considered an 8 even though this is his arguable record around that time

Rashad L
Machida L
Hamill W
Jones L
Bader L
Glover L
Released due to contract dispute

Lol. You really want to judge Rampage's LHW status at the time of the fight with Jones by also counting the Jones fights and his losses after Jones? In that case, Anderson Silva is a pretty shitty win for Weidman because he went 7-1 after losing to Weidman.

Why don't you take a look at Rampage's 10 fights prior to . He knocked out Chuck Liddell, Wanderlei Silva, and beat prime Henderson. He was definitely an elite LHW leading up to that point even with his losses to Forrest Griffin and arguably Machida. If you want to count his losses after Jones broke him, go ahead but it's just extremely misleading to do so.

So his form around the time jones beat him is irrelevant, but his form ten fights beforehand, starting 5 years before jones, is what actually matters? “Jon broke him” nope, he was losing to guys much smaller than him like Rashad and machida already. And I don’t actually believe he lost to griffin I thought it was a draw. At no point in the jones fight did he ever look like he was taking an inhuman amount of damage.

Also, it’s completely different with silva becuase silva was 38 when weidman beat him, then snapped his leg in two in the rematch. Recovering properly and staying at the highest level when you’re old and go through an injury like that is hard. How many fighters have gotten an injury like that? Not many. Weidman and mcgregor jump to mind. How are they doing?

Then you don't know anything about MMA. Rampage suffered multiple injuries to the knee from the Jones fight. Wear and tear to the leg, especially the knee, is one of the worst things that can happen to an MMA fighter. Just ask Cain. And Thiago Santos.

So when he lost to machida and Rashad, two much smaller men, that doesn’t count towards his form at the time? Even his wins around then weren’t elite. Wanderlei went L, L, L, W, L to rampage, L, W
Matt hamill got cut 3 fights later
But you’d prefer to look at him 5 years before he fought jones right?

Also, after losing to glover rampage still managed to win 5 in a row against weaker competition, but you can’t possibly believe that maybe he was already on a massive decline when he started losing to middleweights, and found his level in bellator?
