It's called the clean pull and it's a staple of weightlifting.

He's using a hell of a lot more weight than Cain is but this is essentially what Cain was trying to do.

So many armchair lifters ITT lmao. The clean pull is a hell of a lot safer than power cleans and it's one of the lowest skill explosive lifts to train the full movements.

Who says armchair? I've been in the gym since 16, never saw anyone do these. That said, I don't train Olympic lifting and Cain probably shouldn't either being made of glass.

I do stand corrected though that they apparently have some use as a transition exercise.
 
I had traps before ever touched a weight

I used to box/kickbox and did maybe 200 pushups a day for 15 years

On my son's life I have never used synthol

I just have weird fucking traps and I never train them directly

I have juiced, but mainly just sarms in recent years
Isn't that what they always say though, that the traps are extra sensitive to steroids and therefore grow disproportionately large?
 
Its not that bad but requires a long warm up. I still wouldnt do it if the goal isnt powerlifting.

I would say his one obvious mistake is bending the back.
He seems to lack a little core strenght to pull it of clean. That could lead to serious back injury.

What many amateur strenght athletes (I do see Cain as that) do wrong is going close to their max strenght but you get a lot of development with less weight. You cant work on skill going this tough. Always interesting to visit professional powerlifters as its all about the cummulated training load.

Well those androgen receptors in the traps be soaking it up - the reason my traps just don't like to grow - I'm one of those rare lifetime naturals. AND I AM RARE

And you know I'm rare lol (well rare for being clean and having a notable physique)

He needs to GIVE up all heavy lifting and do nothing but light weight and body weight exercises and pool exercises. The way he does this monster to exhaustion is just asking for injury, but he knows no other way. This is how hes always done it. This is why his career was cut short in mma and why his wwe career will be cut short. I know peds help with performance and recovery and therefore prevent injuries. If hes on the gas, thats different. You can lift heavy for reps and be okay. Naturally, you wanna go lighter. He has a ton of body fat anyway, doing light weight for reps will help him lose the fat quicker. .

Yes that is true, but maybe I just have high androgen receptors in that area

Some freaks have huge calves and forearms naturally

I am about 80-90% natural during my lifting life and obviously carrying too much fat at the minute, as strength is my main goal for now

Normally huge traps and 3D delts are the first signs of androgen use

Funny these guys have no idea what they are watching. Obviously Cain is doing clean pulls. I also agree with you that his form is not terrible, he just lost his balance. It's definitely not great either but it takes practice.

In regards to jump squats (hexbar) being better/safer. I'd say it depends. Less technical for sure, but forces upon landing can be a bit hard to control. That's not the case with the clean pull.

Personally for performance I like the hard braking/stomping into the floor during the catch with the hanging power cleans and the like, and it's something you just don't get that from many other exercises. I've seen some good transfer to punching with it, which makes sense consideration the action-reaction forces and high muscle contractions when doing it, as well as creating force by lowering your center of gravity instead of raising it up.

Usually his workout videos are terrible but those are clearly CLEAN PULLS.

And they’re not that bad. It’s not uncommon to lose your balance on them - I’m not saying he was perfect.

Those who said it was a deadlift that was shrugged Jesus some of you are fucking clueless and know nothing of weightlifting.

It depends on the androgen receptivity. Traps and delts have a large amount of receptors so they can blow up fast with roids but that can also happen when a natty properly targets them. There are plenty of steroid users with small traps, and that comes down to genetic limitations. They're highly dependent on the receptors you're born with, much like calves and forearms.

Stallone has been on roids and hgh his whole life and his traps have never been big.
