New Bill Burr special on Hulu

I’ll check it out.

His standup is usually still good. He’s losing me with his podcasting and talk show appearances.

Especially that dumbass take about the LA wildfire response not being completely bungled

Also, he’s been obnoxiously big on credentialism for years. Maybe it’s because he’s a Boston guy or maybe it’s actually part of his act but he’s always asking if people have a degree or any credential to talk about anything.
Or if he wants to avoid a debate “we haven’t ghat degrees!”. Even if he talks about it all the time when it’s just him on his podcast.

Why you always talking about billionaires, huh? what?Have you some sort of economics degree, Bill? Do ya?

That’s my Bill Burr

Some of you folks are seriously pulling punches here.
We know what the problems are.

He started dating the donkey from Shrek and was pandering to her and her beliefs and involved her and her views in his comedy. He rabbits on about her and involved her more and more in his podcast and coincidentally got less and less funny.
Bill loves her...not many others do. She is a talentless vampiric barnacle he placed in a pedestal and he has turned into a complete liberal cuck on many things.
This, combined with his obvious desire to be accepted by the Hollywood crowd is why his comedy now sucks.

I also don't know why comedians choose to get political and isolate parts of their audience. A lot of people go to see comedians to escape political shit. Hell, several years ago I saw a special of his and he spent the first half of the show bagging Hillary Clinton supporters then the second half of the show bagging Trump supporters...effectively insulting everyone watching in a politically charged climate.

I used to watch all of his stuff, listen to his podcasts/interviews etc and travelled quite a distance to see him when he came to Australia some years back and he was great.
But the presence of the donkey and his pursuit of fame sees him often come off as an unfunny, arrogant, condescending cuck.
He still has some flashes of good stuff here and there but overall now its just cringe and eye rolling that he illicits.

I've travelled thousands of kms to see him before but now I wouldn't go to the end of my driveway.

I have no doubt that if went back through your 17 banned accounts we would find you talking shit about Dave.

I called him soft.

He has a whole special where he does nothing but try to make peace with the trans community. Not going so far as to apologize, but trying to reach some kind of compromise.

It was a far cry from his previous specials where he basically said fuck you I'll make fun of whoever I want.

How dare you!

I just told you what I had a "problem' with. But let me guess, you're the resident drag queen supporter? You still kneel for the anthem? Have a BLM fundraiser link on your Instagram account? Come on, man! Don't tell me you're wearing a mask right now?!

I'm not on my own for knowing him as an angry sexist misogynist.

Okay, that just means you're not on your own being wrong. If you want to reduce him to that, that's fine. People reduced Dice like that, too, ignoring all of his brilliant bits and outstanding impressions. I'm sure there are people who think of Chappelle as the anti-trans comedian and who have never seen Killin' Them Softly.

It's why he became famous

It's not. It might be why you know him, but he also has excellent material on race, and that's what got him on HBO and Netflix.

he had a niche and obviously Sherdog being Sherdog with how women are viewed it was successful here.

You're just grinding axes here, not accurately assessing his comedy or his career.

Again, since he stopped despising women as his go to, I quite like him.

Like whoever you like for whatever reasons you want, but to be clear, he never despised women, he focused on comedically pointing out cultural double standards/hypocrisy relating to gender and recounted his relationship experiences.

I don't quite understand why you're arguing. The fact that Sherdog over decades dislikes women and he became Sherdog famous as a result or something else.

Honestly this is how I feel about most comedians after 3 or so specials. I just don't think that level of talent can be maintained years after years. It's very similar to music artist as well. There will always be people who are outliers of course but for the most part this is how I feel about it.

Dude has a family now and has expanded out to doing things like Broadway.

Bill's been doing this a long time. Cut him a little slack. We're just not going to see 35 year old Bill raging and not giving a fuck anymore.

I agree with most of this to an extent. That said, for as long as he's been doing this, he's still a lot more hit than miss for me.

Your knowledge of stand-up seems to rival your insight on the early years of MMA. Respect.

I liked it, I didn't think he lost that much of his edge. Instead of being a spear, he's more like a machete.

This can is on the verge of a nervous breakdown.

Account #27 incoming.

Pretty good. Not my favorite. But part of that is just me being burned out on standup comedy. I honestly think he’s funnier off the cuff.

Let It Go is still my favorite of his. Maybe my favorite standup of all time.

It was fine. Not his best, bnut it had some good bits. I agree with a lot of what @Bullitt68 says in regards to him changing. I also think the novelty of his act is gone. He still has a lot of the same style and some of his bits are very similar to previous ones. He's more of a known commodity now.
