My first reaction was also "WTF that looks fine." But watching it a few more times, I can kind of see what ref was thinking. Gomez' feet leave the mat before they both land, he's trying to spin into the TD to land other guy in danger position, but ref probably saw that as unnecessary elevation. Other guy also lands kind of on his head and ref may have considered that a spike. Marginal call but I can see it going either way.
That rule is written like trash. Who decides what is necessary? I found the finish to be fine.
If you leave your feet they are going to call it every time…

When is it going down? Will it be possible to watch online?
Tournament starts tomorrow. ESPN Plus will be streaming each mat & match up until the finals (I believe the finals are only on the ESPN channel). ESPN will be broadcasting the tournament on their main ESPN channel and ESPNU; so, you can watch through a streaming service or however you grab live shows out of the ether.

DAY SESSION TIME (CT) TV SCHEDULE
Thursday, March 16 Session I (Pigtails and First-Round Competition) 11 a.m. ESPNU
Thursday, March 17 Session II (Wrestle-Back Prelims, Wrestle-Back First Round, Second Round & Consolation Round 6 p.m. ESPN
Friday, March 17 Session III (Session III (Quarterfinals, Wrestle-Backs Second and Third Rounds) 11 a.m. ESPNU
Friday, March 17 Session IV (Blood Round, Consolation Fourth Round & Semifinals) 7 p.m. ESPN
Saturday, March 18 Session V (Medal Rounds) 10 a.m. ESPNU
Saturday, March 18 Session VI (National Finals) 6 p.m. ESPN

If you have ESPN Plus and have a XBox or Apple TV 4K streaming box (others have stated all apple products have the multiscreen feature not just the 4K) you can use the multiscreen option to watch multiple mats on one screen: you can split the screen, picture in picture, 3 mat view and two different 4 view formats - 4 equal quadrants or 1 larger picture with 3 off to the side.

According to ESPN, ESPN Plus allows up to 3 different streaming devices* (the xbox & apple tv multiscreen views count as 1 stream), I'm not sure how many streams per device are allowed and when I asked ESPN's customer service reps yesterday & this morning they didn't know (like every previous year).
Actually, I was told 1 stream per device which is bullshit and an obvious lie once one logs in and starts streaming.**

*Today I was messing around with the Xbox quad view, a desktop, laptop and tablet to see how it all worked and I had 4 devices concurrently streaming ESPN Plus content.
**I had a lot of streams going at once: the Xbox quad view, one on the tablet, 4 on the laptop and 4 on the desktop. I just started opening more streams on the desktop and it started shutting down streams when i reached 10.

Frick. Kennedy needs to get past Ramirez and Griffith to get to the podium. That’s a rough go.

Love how I watched a decent amount of matches only to fall asleep when Lee gets pinned lol

Crazy

Bully wrestlers always tend to run into guys that decide they aren’t going away and stay around in the match. Sometimes they win but often they lose

Lee medically forfeits out the tournament. Pretty lame if he’s not really injured.

Do we see Lee at Paris?
Going to be really tough. His weight is stacked for Olympic Trials. He’s got Gilman, Fix, Gross, Arujau, Suriano, Tomasello, and Ramos in his weight class—possibly RBY. Advantage to whomever medals in Belgrade.

Lee is going to have to adapt quickly, which I think he can. I saw something the other day that made me laugh—that Lee is above average on his feet and wouldn’t adapt well to freestyle. I can’t even imagine what that guy can do on top when he actually gets to lock hands.
