Wrestling NCAA Wrestling

I just had to listen to a dad coach, who never wrestled, who’s only experience coaching above elementary was helping out once a week at a high school for one year. Who fancies himself a “freestyle guy” just say Bekzod was “obviously a folkstyle guy trying out freestyle”.. had no idea he was a multi time senior level medalist or from another country.
I. Fucking. Hate. Youth wrestling. Culture.

great night of wrestling though

edit: except for the last match lol

Interesting. He's much better suited for 86 but his chances of making the team at either weight is low. That said, he'd definitely be the #2 @ 86.

I know he died in his sleep, but what was the cause of death? From what I have heard, when he was a coach he was in phenomenal shape. I was really surprised by this.

Haven't heard the cause and he was always in great shape from what I saw.

His wife passed away this winter so maybe this is the Widow Effect

Could be the widow effect. It is very sad, I have never heard anyone say a bad thing about Strobel. I remember Jon Trenge saying that when he was a coach in his 50's he was in better shape than most of the wrestlers on the team.

I'm not a greco fan at all but Ben Peake was a lot of fun to watch this week. I definitely recommend giving him a watch.
