The one thing that does hurt them come Tourney Time is playing in the WCC. It's almost like culture shock once they face a big boi a couple games into the Tourney.
I would much rather have Gonzaga win the tourney over the likes of UNC, Kansas, UK, UCLA, Duke, etc. , but I'm not holding my breath for them to do something worthwhile. Maybe they'll get over the hump, but that's an annual statement for this program.

Theres legit no incentive to have a great regular season.

Why go 16-0 in conference play when you have to have your season come down to a few conference games? Its just a money grab and it makes the regular season pointless for a lot of team.s

Totally disagree. For one, if you go 16-0 you are going to the dance anyway. Even if you choke in the first damned game of the conference tourney you will be in the NCAA.

And winning a reg season championship isn't bullshit in non-can conferences. It means something. A banner to hang for one.

Plus a tourney has a whole other atmosphere compared to the reg season. You lose, you go home. It's great for the players and it's great for the fans.

Money grab? Sure, but I don't give a shit. It doesn't make what I just said untrue.

End rant. <cheer>

"It just means more." is actually written on the court for the SEC tournament.

<{hmmm}>

Dark, dark days ahead for Bruce Pearl?

Well I doubt a regular season champion from one of the "power" conferences has been left out since the expansion in 1975 (and especially since the expansion to 64 in the mid 80s).
It's BS in the smaller conferences though. Some 17-16 NEC or whatever shit conference team is going dancing all based on 3 or 4 games. I remember years ago when Richmond (I think it was them) went 16-0 in CAA play (this was before they joined the A-10) and 27-3 overall but got left out of the NCAA tournament because they were upset in the CAA tournament.
washington won the pac 12 regular season title in 2012 and was left out, but that was the pac at the worst i ever seen it. the huskies went 14-4 in conference and 24-9 overall but had some bad losses and they were told to kick rocks. They had 3 nba first rounders on the squad in tony wroten, terrence ross and cj wilcox. the conference only got 2 squads in that year and they were seeded 11th and 12th so yeah the conference got no love

Damn the Pac 12 must've been absolute garbage because that hasn't even happened to an SEC team since they went to 64 teams in 1986.

Anyone mention that Michigan's plane crashed on teh way to INDY for the B1G tourney?

Robert Traylor was pilot. Webber was asleep. Steve Fisher was smokin' crack in the back.

So Bill Self choked earlier than usual but they'll still be a 1 seed. I've always wondered if the committee would punish a top team for sitting out of their conference tourney ever since Kenyon Martin broke his leg.

How bout another UNC-DUKE game? I'll pick you up at 7pm baby............

Robert TRaylor has been dead for a few years.

Steve Fisher smoking crack? Are you thinking of Kevin Mackey of Cleveland state fame/infamy?

Projected 4-seeds or worse that I can see making the Final Four:

Purdue (4)
Duke (4)
The Meth (5)
Cincy (5)
St. Mary's (6)

Michigan getting hot at the right time.

No team has ever won it all after going 0fer in their conference tourney so stick a fork in Kansas and Purdue.

Well Kansas is capable of doing it considering the field. There is no truly dominate team. I admit it doesn't bode well for then though.

I honestly think Vandy is the SEC's best chance to make a deep run.
