NBA NBA Thread: Gamble Gate

Nuggets really collapsed after a fast start to the game. The Mavs two rookies had 24/8/2 and 28/3/10 which is crazy enough but then gAyD poured in 32.

Nemhardt was lights out. Nuggets lost three in a row at home and each game has played out the exact same. Their best perimeter defenders are out.

Post game crew said the thing about Nembhard tonight is he had 28/3/10, but 0 turnovers. Mavs might want to hold on to that guy.

He was 12 for 14 from the field. Super high efficient, which has been the story for the guards on the losing skid for Denver.
Against San Antonio Vassell was 7 for 9 from 3. Scored 35 when he averages 16.
Chicago before that Ayo Dosunmo went 8 for 9 from the field for 21.

These aren't exactly the names that you expect to beat ya basically shooting 80% plus true shooting.
Mind you, spencer jones who averages 3 points per game for Denver got 28 tonight. But I think he still sucks (undrafted 2nd year player) - he will get a lot more playing time with the injuries but I don't expect big contributions from him.

Denver was pretty much in the wrong place at the wrong time. Nembhard's efficiency tonight was obscene.

Another 5 or so rebounds and that would look like a very decent night at the office for Yoke.

I mean, obviously, Jokic is a freak. Nembhard is an undrafted rookie. It might be the most unexpected game from a rookie for the season. I wouldn't expect him to be able to replicate that very often.

Lmao. LeBrick getting absolutely throttled by Dildo is A-level comedy. Glad he got his 10 points though.

<36>

Send LeGLeague back to where he belongs.

With all these injuries, the Nugs are going back to playing a 6-7 man rotation and guys are exhausted by the end of the game. They might want to figure out a way to play both Jokic and JV for like 10 mins a game and not just to sub Jokic. Nnaji should not get anything outside of garbage time mins imo.

The end of the game without Murray was a brutal watch, they’re just jacking up threes and basically gave the game away.

Yeah, there's been moments where Jokic and JV have been on the court simultaneously, seems like a good idea to have some more of that.

This is pissing me off because it felt like the first year where Jokic wouldn't have to totally carry everyone and could get a glimpse of what he efficiency could look like with normal in-game rest etc, but here we go again. Aaron Gordon isn't a superstar but he was playing super well to start the season, and chemistry wise he's super important to the team. Now I'm left wondering if an undrafted G-leaguer is going to be the number 2 guy on the team if Murray/Gordon/Braun are out for an extended period of time.

Lebron was shit tonight. Zero effort. Luka turned the ball over like crazy too. I’m honestly beginning to think LeBron and him do not like playing together and that’s why LeBron opted into the final year of his deal instead of signing an extension this past offseason. I’ll be interested to see how the lakers respond next game

Wtf is he doing?

That's always been a sort of knock on LeBron. He's not really coachable. He has always been so naturally gifted that he just doesn't care. That or the floating rumor he's irritated Luka took over the team and is getting all the shine.

The Nuggets are screwed right now when Jokic sits. I don't know if its just because of injuries or if its been a problem even when the team is at full strength.

The injuries it appears. The on/off has always been a big factor, but when the team was full strength earlier this year it surprised me that the on/off was while it was still pretty big despite the roster changes and having a legit very competent back center, it was like the team could tread water fine when he was off, and be very dominant when he was on.

So in the past making up numbers it was like +20 when he was on, and -10 when he was off. Earlier this year it was like +25 when he was on, and flat when he was off. So when he was off there was still some times he would go back in with a bigger lead even instead of the typical trend of absolutely hemorrhaging points.

This has allowed him to chop off aobut 3 minutes per game played (and could be more really, except now they seem more willing to play him in the fourth quarter with a bigger lead since he's getting more proper in game rest time) and his efficiency was going up to career highs.

The only plus side is maybe this can help Cam Johnson get into the swing of things because he's having the worst year of his career (first time in his career he's a VORP negative) and he needs to be better, he's getting paid 20+ million a year.

Its one game, LeGOAT and Luka have played well together before. LeBron is old as fuck, thats why he didnt sign anything.

LeBron has literally gotten better and bought into every situation he's ever been in. What the fuck are you talking about? lmao

He also has wanted someone to take over the #1 role since 2019 which is why they traded a grip of upcoming players for AD.
