Based on what the Nets want, OKC is probably the only team with a shot at KD. If Ayton and Bridges aren’t enough then there isn’t shit the Raptors can give without completely gutting themselves.

If I’m a GM I wouldn’t gut my roster and kill my future for a 33 year old with a history of quitting who’s also coming off the worst post season of his career.

I mostly agree but I read the nets want draft compensation and also want the lakers to take on the last 2 years/39mil of joe harris's deal as well. From nets perspective, Im sure they could/should get more than a pick for kyrie but if it helps chop a year of cap space off then that sweetens deal a little bit. Plus I doubt anybody would give the nets much if kyrie doesnt want to play with new team since hes a malcontent who will undermine that team and then hit the road after this next season as a free agent. Nets hands are a little bit tied in terms of destination.

Its a tough situation to exile a top player like that. Kyrie will just flat refuse to play. All Kyrie has to do is make one phone call and tell Sacramento, don't trade for me, I won't play, or whatever. No team wants to bring a guy in that is pissed about being there. Especially if its someone they have to give up a lot to get. With KD you could probably do it and he would play for a year then request a trade and get out but with Kyrie, man, Kyrie will blow your shit up and never play a minute while doing it.

I hate the Lakers so much. You don't think any team in the league will offer a better deal to the Nets for Kyrie than Westbrook/Joe Harris? That seems WILD to me considering Kyrie has the best handle on the planet and can give you 50 on any given night. I know, he's a malcontent, as you put it, but damn. I guess I could have condensed this entire post to a haiku.

no i do think someone will/should offer more than lakers rumors that are circulating. Whatever anyone thinks about kyrie, he does have one year left before free agency and i think hell most likely be on decent behavior. I just think a team who he flat out doesnt want to play for would be dumb to give up much since its a one year loaner on a headcase hence i do think the nets hands are a little bit tied in terms of where to send him.

That's the joke of all this. Why would any team break the bank for this dude, when he could just have a bad day and demand a trade? Great player. I wouldn't trade anything more than a few picks for him, though.

Yea this is a tough situation, really, for the entire league. KD and Kyrie being up in the air all of a sudden has forced teams to scramble and completely put this off season into critical mode. I watched a video this morning and the guy said its possible KD won't even be traded until next year because the Nets want too much for him for the very reason you listed. It also means many teams are not making any moves until this KD/Kyrie thing is resolved. The expectation is that a flood of trades will all come in on the same day when KD is traded but it might take weeks of waiting for it to happen.

For sure. Jizz get basically 8 players for Gobert. Yea, the Nets want an entire team for the trade. Or multiple All Stars but how many teams have multiple All Stars they are willing to part with.
