My buddy works at a kalispel casino. He is of Spokane and cda tribe. I used to work with him. At our orientation we were taught favoritism is OK at the casino.

1. If your kalispel, you have picks over any other native american tribe. You also can't be fired but just moved around.

2. Then rest of native americans get choices and finally other races.

I was once at a table with a group of native Americans with one as my buddy and two females. A bigger older Indian looked at me(he was huge) and said "your people took our land. Made us suffer." I responded with "I didn't do it and wasn't even alive then." He quickly stood up towards me. My friend and the two woman got in middle and told him to grow up and calm down.

I also learned that the native tongue of all kinds of tribes are dying. I listened to a lady who was 90 at the time say our native children don't care about our language or history. I thought that was sad.

It had racism towards me and I could feel it. At times I knew why. I didn't feel guilty as I didn't do it to them but did I understand? Yes.

The kalispel casino is located on Spokane tribe land and Spokane tribe lent out 40 acres so they could build. The casino has flourished and come very popular. Well the Spokane tribe wanted to build a casino on other side some miles away and kalispel tried to block it. Pissed my buddy off.

They finally won and are getting a second casino in airway.
 
Their pet cemeteries are fukkin btfl tbh. Very well kept and cared for. Well, the tribe I knew anyways. Suppose it would be different for everybody. But I was like damn, looks better than the cemeteries white ppl keep for each other lol.
 
Idk man. Show me some of their ancient writings so I can learn more.

They also destroyed a lot of each others cultures. For example, the Sioux tribe that you heard about with the Dakota Access Pipeline didn't live in that area 200 years ago. They slaughtered the Arikara and Mandan that had lived there for hundreds of years. The Arikara actually came to the government and asked for help because the Sioux kept driving them further and further away from their home land and killing them.
Go look up Sioux history, they're responsible for a lot of other tribes being wiped out.
 
I just hope their nether regions don't all look like Hope Solos.
 
I grew up with a lot of them here in Phoenix. They are proud thats for sure. Northerm Arizona has some awesome sites like Montezuma Castle where their homes were built into the rocks. They are very family oriented and really good at cross country. In high school the best long distance runners were Native Americans. All in all, we are guests on their land. If it weren't for them helping our settlers in the beginning, we wouldn't have the America we have now.

Also, the UFC wouldnt be where it is today if it werent for Indian Casinos. They were the only venues to hold MMA events back in the day.

Careful bud, you don't wanna inadvertently conflate war with war for extermination. It's certainly true that some tribes were extremely warlike, even to the point where conflict between tribes often came first as a priority before conflict with whites (something the US gov gladly exploited at every turn), but the concept of specifically trying to exterminate people/culture based on cultural or religious reasons is, broadly speaking, imported. In my tribe, for example, if you went down south on a raid and killed a guy then realized he had a kid around, it wasn't uncommon to take that child in and adopt them as a full member of the tribe. Indeed, it was often looked at as a responsibility to do so.
 
We're in the age of the 7th Fire, brah. I love the history, but I have a lot of hope for the future.

 
Nah, I love the culture, the traditions, but I hate the history. It's hard to think about sometimes, the world could have been a very different place.
 
I get a huge kick out of seeing white trash with dream catcher tattoo's and their "oh I'm Native American, I'm 1/32 part Iroquois".
I mean C'mon... Before I got married I loved to date black women but that doesn't mean I can walk around in a dashiki.
 
I was talking with a Comanche from Oklahoma once who chastised me for showing pity and Regret towards American Indians, Comanche's specifically.

He said, "I can assure you had we won, you honkies wouldn't be getting any welfare checks!."

Yeah everyone in the states seem to think they have NA blood in them.

I remember watching this documentary with famous black stars, and all of the ones who said they had NA blood in their veins, actually didn't. I imagine it is the same all around lol
