I don't get your answer?, my sincere condolences for growing up in Edmonton though. Are you saying your American Indian, but without any recognised tribal status, don't know what tribe, or 6 times removed from any kind of status

my mother was adopted from edm to halifax
my father ran away from his "socially acceptable" home
and was raped in the proccess he told me this all first hand and it breaks my heart
hearing this. i myself do not get "indian status" because of my scottish ancestry.
i am just a brown native guy from edmonton
 
I'm Native. USA pays 100% of my healthcare. If I have children they're covered too, same with anyone I knock-up.

So if there are any white women out there confused by this affordable health care act just come see me for FREE medical care.

Canada: 1560s (implied in Canadian), said to be a Latinized form of a word for "village" in an Iroquoian language of the St. Lawrence valley that had gone extinct by 1600. Most still-spoken Iroquoian languages have a similar word (e.g. Mohawk kana:ta "town"). Canada goose is attested from 1772.

There's a specific term for French-Canadian descent natives: Metis.

But nobody uses that. It's either First Nations, or native, or... Indian.

I'm at least a third native but my dad has no proof of status so I can't get my free education.

it's not just my friends. actually never heard any of my good friends do it.

Canadians are swell. a bit sanctimonious at times, but that's better than being a child molester or something.

Im sure there are ways you can get your "status" (if that's what you want) . I will talk to a good friend of mine who is more up to speed on the legal side of the subject. (for the record I'm an English born Canadian who has some very close friends who have been through similar issues)
