There is no point building and then preserving any type of PPV draw status if you don't want to use it in the biggest paying PPV's.

Its a win/win for them if they want to promote the winner to the next LW title shot. I am sure they would expect GSP to win easily but if upset with a bad weight cut they could promote Nate to the shot and if he won the shot, then Conor gets the shot against Nate for their trilogy.

It's pretty obvious. Whoever wins this fight sets up a record breaking PPV vs. Conor. Diaz coming off of a win over GSP, and his original win over Conor makes the trilogy massive. GSP having proven he can make weight, and defeating the last guy to beat Conor is an even bigger fight.

I get that. But what I'm saying is both GSP and Nate have said they aren't interested in fighting each other. UFC has to know by now that neither fighter is going to take a fight they don't want. So why is the UFC putting the rumor out that they are trying to make this fight?
