Who got iced by Josh Thomson. A fighter who went 1-3 in the UFC and is now in Bellator.

Nate choking out a gassed manlet at 170 pounds doesn't change this fact.

I just think we as fight fans need to be realistic about the implications of Saturday's win.

Big props to Nate for helping save a card on 10 days notice. I hope he gets the title shot against RDA and earns another decent paycheck. Before getting brutally wrasslepounded for five rounds and returning to gatekeeper status.

Now let's discuss the above rationally and civilly, guys, without letting our emotions get the best of us. Thanks in advance everybody!

I concur. He's not even ranked in the latest Sherdog top 10 LW list, only as an honorable mention, and Sherdog's list is legit as F.

Basically Conor McGregor lost to a 10+ LW with no training camp, whose corner once quit for him by throwing in the towel. Let that stew for a minute.

Doesn't matter though I'd still bend over backwards for McGOAT.

Conor bless.

Nate is also the guy who derailed another increasingly annoying hype train. That alone is worth weeks of celebration.

And Conor is still the guy that got iced by Nate Diaz

Nice MMAth, clown.

I think you'd be surprised. Nate was injured in the RDA fight and didn't pull out because he wasn't scared homie. He even missed weight for that fight, when has that happened before? The guy clearly was not in shape, was not motivated. How can you compare the Diaz that 'fought' dos Anjos to the Diaz that used Johnson's face as a speed bag and slapped McGregor into a panicked wrestler?

You can't if you have any knowledge of MMA or common sense of any sort..

I'm forever grateful to Nate for the serving of humble pie he fed Conor.

The Bendo and Green decisions couldve easily gone Joshs way. Bendo def shouldve. Gil 3 was incredibly close too. Fact is Thomson is still one of the better LWs in the world and he got curbstomped by Tony yes, but Tony is a top 3 LW and possible championship caliber fighter on a great streak right now

Nate is still relatively young, why do you think fighters can't evolve?

You don't think Nate should be #5 if he beat #5 ranked MJ?

Nate also schooled the last LW contender (Cerrone). And schooled Johnson.

Isn't he allowed one poor showing (Thomson fight)? He's had a lot of fights; can't he have a bad day and lose to a good fighter that's over the hill?

Hell yes. I am also happy a guy like Nate got paid what he deserved for once.

MJ isn't ranked in Sherdog's list. Sherdog is more legit than whatever ramshackle ranking you got you info from.

Conor got beat by a 10+ LW with no training camp.

10+ LW without training camp < 20th LW.

Conor McGregor would get destroyed by 20 LWs in the world. It's over he should quit now. Get in, get rich and get out is what he said. He already got rich, time to get out.

In before "motivated diaz" shows up

I think Nate's improved a lot since that Thompson fight, he looked damn good against MJ and executed the perfect game plan against McG

Well said.

Extremely disrespectful to act as if Josh Thomson was a can, i'm sure he was ranked top 3/5 at the time of the Nate/Benson fights. You also have to remember the guy was in his mid 30's and on the decline at that point of his career.

Whoa bro no need to get angry I'm not on a Conor crusade I just think when you beat the #5 ranked LW you should take his spot. Has wins over Barboza, El Cucuy, Guillard, Joe Lauzon & Gleison Tibau. and got robbed against Beneil Dariush.

josh thompson would beat conor to at 155 or 170 too

The only LW's who will give Nate trouble are Khabib, Tony and Rafael.
