Or Johnson fight. I hope he takes this a s seriously as possible. Great matchup for an upset if so.

Was such a smooth performance... his run there of this fight, Cowboy then Jim Miller looked so good

Less than a week training camp bro.

If he makes it out of the first, it's a moral victory. Anything beyond that is a testament to his toughness.

Bro, such a bummer. I feel like Nate would actually be a good challenge to Conor on a full camp but can't help but feel UFC doesn't want that so they're giving outspoken Nate a "shot" (with no notice) but if he loses will act like he got a fair shot and can them get him out of the picture. Hopefully Nate has been training for an upcoming triathlon or something. True Diaz brothers fan.

Even as they were saying these are Nates most crisp punches ever they were very loopy. Either way this fight was like 5 or 6 years ago so it means pretty much nothing.

I'm hoping Nate gets this one, but I honesty think win or lose its kind of a situation where both guys can feel like winners, big pay day plus respect for showing up.

Don't be scared homie

i get not liking connor, and hell i even get liking the diaz bros they're good stuff. But no camp, short notice, def been rolling blunts for the past 2 weeks. There aint gonna be no 'diaz vs johnson' diaz showing up.

This fight could be pretty fun if he was in the kind of shape he was in for his last fight. Atleast he'd have the conditioning to potentially make some fun shit happen. Best we can hope for is an entertaining fight between two genuine hoodlums. I predict lots of shit talking and clowning before the TKO

Best case scenario for anyone who's not swinging off connors mcnuggets is that diaz reach and boxing coupled with the fact that connor spent the past however long preparing for a short guy who was likely gonna spam takedowns will throw him off his game enough to make the fight go the distance.

So, I agree to a point. I think the crazy thing about this fight was nate's evolution of his game. He has the ground game and came out and totally out boxed (out of nowhere) the guy who was the big banger. I'm also curious as to what nate's in ring mental game does to someone who is an pre fight mental messer.
Further, I get what you're saying about the fact this fight was 5 years ago. But weird enough I don't see something from Conor's game that reflects the evolution of the sport in the last 5 years other than conditioning. But I'm sure I'm missing something.

Ya. I know this is probably what I need to think but it's just a bummer. A fight that I think real fans would love to see but probably one the UFC will only allow this one time. What do you think?

I think Nate will win the first Rd. But then the non camp factor will set in. McGregor TKO in the third.

I think Conor's distance control/ footwork and reflexes are second to none in the UFC. That right there will keep him safe and lead to knockout against 90% of the roster. I say this while also saying I don't think 90% of the roster are cognizant of distance and footwork at an intimate level such as McGregor is.

I think it would be wildly entertaining to see nate v connor with a full camp. If he showed up jacked like in the Jonhson fight especially. If he used his size and reach and volume it has potential to be an amazing fight.
Do I think there will ever be a rematch outside of a controversial/absurd stoppage win for Diaz? No definitely not. This will be the one chance Diaz will get and im sure he'll ride off into the sunset with a pocket fulla cash and no regrets. Im not a Connor fan but I still think he wins full camp or not.

However it does set up a possible freakshow fight between Connor and Nick Diaz. UFC seems fond of ridiculous fights that have no bearing on actual rankings that will garuntee sell, and McG vs Nick fits that bill so who knows?

Everyone knows Nate got baited for this fight. Realistically Nate thought this is one big opportunity for a big payday. Can't really pass that up. Hard to get into a title run although he had some momentum after the Johnson fight. Somehow I still think he's going to make this a fight. He might lose but he won't go down easily. 1 week notice or not. Who knows, if the fight goes to the ground he has a chance.

A Diaz sub would be awesome. I hope he at least attempts it
