I hate on them, but, if you aren't worried about towing anything of substance and aren't worried about going too deep into the mountains - if you slap chains on them in any snow (the vids I've seen of them in even a few inches of snow going uphill offroad hasn't been good) they are actually pretty impressive high clearance vehicles. Although I mentioned some negatives, please don't take it as a diss. I just think the cybertruck as released should have been a beta tester. Call it Electric offroad vehicle 0.21. I'm hopeful the engineering and battery capacity improves over the next 10 years and there's an actual cybertruck 1.0 that kicks all the ass.
If i were to tow, i would get a diesel, my mom would give me her truck, she’s been trying to give it away to me or my brother but not takers.
As for cybertruck, reasons i like (not necessarily reason i bought)
Passenger seating is amazing and roomy. This is compared to other passenger trucks.
The tonneau cover is outstanding, always wanted one for my other trucks, but they all kind of suck and limit the truck use.
Acceleration, yeah it’s stupidly fast, don’t really care for it but nice passing up vehicles as needed.
The exterior, i was a former contractor, hated that my trucks would get so beat up, CT no paint, ultra tough
And for the main reasons aside from tax advantages
Electric….. i have an excess of solar energies going to waste. I pay zero fuel costs, charge at home is free for up to a tank a week, i don’t drive that much.
Full self driving…. Absolutely amazing technology, it’sa truck, i often have to make multiple location deliveries, i can send location from phone to truck and have a map of points to hit up, and let the truck do the driving.
Unlike cars, trucks are big, difficult to maneuver, so a self driving system is kind of amazing, takes care of all the stress.
As for snow traction, have no snow around here, and it should work as well as other awd vehicles, definitely better than rwd.
As for range, it goes close to rivian with a smaller battery pack, and extended packs are optional.
The truck is well engineered, however it’s unconventional
