News Mysterious drones over New Jersey

Why has no one shot them down, if they are just drones then they can be easily shot down, you don't even need planes and all this sophisticated stuff, I think the military over complicate everything, chasing them with F15 lol. You just need a shotgun.

Some property owner a few years ago shot down a few drones near me with his shotgun because he said they were annoying him.

It makes me suspicious that no one has been able to shot them down, not police, military or any civilians, that does make it very strange, like I said simple drones are not hard to shoot down, you don't even need all these silly scopes, radars lol, just a shotgun, anyone who is experienced with shotguns and has a good aim can take them out. I seen some of the videos they are going close over the roof of peoples homes etc. I don't understand why none have been taken out, that does it make it very weird.

If one can be shot down then we can find out what it is, who is doing it and give us a clear picture

They made it illegal to shoot at drones. Even if it flies directly over your property. Even if it's 10 feet off the ground. It's an actual felony. Up to $250,000 fine. Up to 20 years in prison.

NJ resident here and I’ve yet to see any of these drones.

Although I do regularly bring my dog hiking nearby a military air base and once saw an odd drone-like (or saucer-like) flying object about 10 years ago. It was well camouflaged in the bluebird sky and I think the only reason I spotted it was because it flew and stopped in front a lone cloud in the sky. I’d say it was at least the size of a large pickup. It sat in front of the cloud for 2-3 seconds then took off quickly.

A few days later I was fishing a few miles from there and an apache helicopter flew directly towards me and was so close to the lake that the propellers were displacing the water…ruining any shot I had of catching fish.

The chopper then hovered above me for a few seconds with the guns pointed directly at me. Then it casually flew off. I have no idea what that was about but my conspiracy-minded brain thought it was a warning for trying to (unsuccessfully) take a photo of their new aircraft they were testing days ago.

TLDR: UFO story. Seen no drones lately. My guess is they are military crafts despite them saying they aren’t.

At a diner in NJ right now near the airbase where I saw the UFO years back and a bunch of old townies are talking about the drones. One guy from the area is saying he started seeing these drones a couple months back which would be the first sighting(s) of these.

Interesting. Let’s see if I can get any more details. Seems like everyone here has seen one recently.

What did he say he saw?

He just saw drones with strange lights just like everyone else is seeing. He was on his way out so I didn’t get much info.

Another person said their friend tried to follow the drone. It led them to a private airport in an area I’m very familiar with. He said his friend saw like 5 guys get out of a van there and it looked like there were multiple monitors in the van. Probably made up but who knows. I’ve seen more shady shit around here than any other place in the state

The consensus from everyone here is they are government drones surveying who knows what.

If the guy at the diner was telling me the truth that would mean the two earliest sightings were near military bases. So I’m leaning towards military.

Could it be hobbyists flying these?

Or maybe they are surveying with lidar? Underneath here is one of the biggest aquifers in the country filled with all sorts of caverns. But why hide it?
