$7,000 on Meyhem - Sherdog Mixed Martial Arts Forums

....and we have a new Champion!!!

This is still better, because he had detailed reasons behind his dumb choices.

A Sherdog classic. I just realized this thread was made on the same day I signed up.

One more bump before I send it to the archives.

Edit

Apparently, I already realized this in 2011.

Indeed. Mayhem was a huge favorite going into the fight. He should have won because he outclassed Bisping everywhere before he jumped to the UFC and his skills just went to crap. Great cardio was gone, good stand up was gone, ground game after the first round seemed poor because he gassed. Mayhem UFC was a bust.

Edit: Replying to a two year old post. Damn.

Oh revisionist history.

Bisping was a 2:1 favorite on every book.

I'm loving these golden threads resurfacing today. Threads like these remind me exactly why I don't bet real money on MMA.

Ouch

Never understood betting on MMA fights - it is so freaking hard to predict

This still is one of the funniest things I have ever seen on sherdog

But the guy who bet 5000 dollars for BJ Penn against GSP (2nd fight) was even more hilarious!

2007 is the exact reason why I don't bet on MMA:

-Serra finishes GSP
-Crocop gets Crocop'd
-Shogun gets subbed by "a Tuffer" (how Forrest was viewed at the time)
-A Nog gets KO'd
-Wand and Chuck lose their belts

Okay, that's enough for me. I'm starting to get depressed.

I always look for underdogs whom are wrestlers...A decision still wins me $$$.

Like last time I was in NV (Lake Tahoe), I threw $50 on Varner when he fought Barboza...Varner has good hands, and wrestling, and I felt like Barboza was being over-hyped due to the fact his last fight was that crazy high kick KO of Etim.

It's not as hard as some make it seem, unless you're one of those "bet on every fight/parlay" guys like my brother.

Every time my brother and I go to Vegas/Tahoe etc., he loses money on parlays and favorites, I almost always end up with some decent winnings due to an underdog or two that I bet on.

Thank god for wrestlers ha ha.

I love the fact that Sherdoggers feel the need to add salt to his wound. He misses every bet and then gets 18 pages of people laughing at him and calling him a moron. Haha!

People forget to mention the fact that after Chuck got KO'ed, the UFC went 28 straight fights without a single upset, ending with Grove/Cote. It was hilarious hearing people talk about "how there are so many upsets in MMA!!!" without even realizing this happened.
