Ive been holding back from commenting on the legalization of MMA in New York. But I can no longer bite my tongue.

The truth is, the last thing we need in NY (especially NYC) is MMA.

For the last three years the crime rate has been going up in the city, with things getting especially worse under the De Blasio administration, an administration that has severely curtailed the NYPD's method of policing which was largely effective. The knockout game was pretty much invented in the city. And a new "game" has recently sprouted from nowhere, the objective of which is to randomly slash the faces of unsuspecting civilians.

The city is getting bad. SO while I would normally have welcomed this development of legal MMA, I think it's come at the wrong time. The last thing we need is a billboard of nate Diaz in Time Square for all these knuckleheads running the streets to get more violent ideas and encouragement.

So no mma in NY because it's a city prone to violence?

Every friggin city is prone to violence

come on. I hate De Blasio- and only about half as much as NYPD cops hate him- but MMA in NY is overdue. Crime shouldn't be a factor here. Sometimes, you really go for it, @Macalpinerules lol

NYC violence has been trending down for decades. its one of the largest cities on earth there is gonna be some "knucleheads"

i bet you support the "stop and frisk" as well. and you call them knuckleheads.

You finally break the silence!.....I had been waiting for this day.

Someone ban this idiot please.

The worst cities in the world have mma. This isnt going to affect wether or not people act stupid.

People are stupid and will act so. Tis what tit tis.

When you look at crime rate, do not look at total amount of crime. People cause crime so the largest cities tend to have a higher amount of crime. Look at per capita crime rate. The amount of crime committed per person who live in the city gives you a better picture. New York City is no where near among the worst cities when it comes to crime. It is actually safer than the national average.

This idea that NYC crime is bad is mostly because of the crime rate that we used to have before the early 90's. That has been picked up by hollywood and popularized. Hell, people still think that brooklyn is mostly hood when in reality most of brooklyn is occupied by rich young kids and professional families.

And where does it say that MMA adoption in a city has a direct correlation with crime rate? Go look at the numbers and get back to me.

Has there been any issues in Newark?

What do u expect with a city ran by democrats? They're all about protecting the criminal and disarming the victim. This shit doesn't happen in places like Phoenix or Scottsdale. Just leftist communist hell holes like NYC.

I agree with almost everything you said, except that last part...its not "most" of brooklyn...there alot of bad places here that you wouldnt want to be alone walking down the street at night. There are its good parts, but its not most.

Guess they should stop commercials for the Army too since people will think it's ok to shoot people

your troll threads used to be so creative. you need to do some self-analysis and return to your roots.

No doubt I live in Brooklyn. What has happened over the last decade has seen communities that were once bad, filled with people who can no longer live in Manhattan. Combine that with landlord raising prices to kick out poor people and increase the value of their properties, most of the bad communities have moved towards the west side of Brooklyn. If we look at population, we see a shift where "above average earners" have outnumbered poor people in Brooklyn. Poor people can only live in certain parts of Brooklyn and many have moved to the south. Are there still bad communities, yes but most (over 50%) neighborhoods today in brooklyn have become safe havens for young professionals who can no longer afford the insane prices of Manhattan.
