Don't limp and be play tight aggressive the early rounds. When the blinds go up loosen up and start raising/3 betting in late position with broadway and suited connectors. Fold to 3 bets when youre out of position with weak hands like KJ.

Try and not play hands out of position. If you have to, such as from the blind, and the button raises you, 3bet him with a 3.5-4.5x his raise. Be wary of utg limp shoves. Its usually Aces or Kings.

Play your hands aggressive and fast.

You don't need to auto shove when you get to around 20BB, just pick your spots carefully. Don't constantly shove on the button either.

Uhm what?
He's playing with 20BB in a tournament. That's cash game sizing.

Play pretty much only in late position because live players loe seeing flops.
Minraise only, or slightly more.
Be TAG and play to win, uxcept when you're short and close to the bubble.

If he has 20bb he should either shove or fold. Im suggesting he make the 3.5-4.5x raise to just take down the pot preflop. Instead of min raising and getting a call with him out of position. I wouldn't mind the min raise if he had position though.

Hi all,

I recall that there were a couple of threads here and there that were about Poker. I also replied to a thread this morning regarding your short term goals. My post was to run my poker account deposit from $500.00 (USD) to $2,000.00 (USD) or more. I am not a professional, never have been, but I have been playing on and off for almost 4 years. I will be playing a few hours each day.

I will use this thread to update my progress and also would like to welcome feedback and discussion about myself or poker in general.

So I deposited $500.00 on April 13, 2013. Today I started with 786.66, I play four tables of 25NL (.25/.10) and any feedback is welcome.

Let the discussions begin, good luck to me!

what site? I want to play online again, but all the sites are banned in the US...

?? He should not just open shove 20 BB.
If people flat too much pre live, you can make it a little bigger, but you usually don't want to open shove 20BB. That's not the most profitable strategy.

Hachemisafish, are you gettin at fold equity as the reason to not just shove 20 BB?

Also, busted like 30th, need to be top 18 for money. Played two key hands poorly, now I am home and will grind four tables of 25NL.

I'm not saying open shove.

If the button raises, and I have a hand like 10J suited, i would rather shove than min 3bet or fold.

I'd do the same for weak aces and low pocket pairs. Obviously it would be opponent dependant but in general for button steals I would shove with the above.

Of course you can't 3-bet fold here, but open shoving is generally not a strong play.
Especially close to the money with a lot of guys calling a very wide range.
You jamming range all depends on the position, hand, players, perceived image etc.
