you've only trained 7 months and you've already started competing in top name tourneys?

nice man yea almost throwing is the way to go it keeps u on ur toes cuz u ended up winning.

he competed in the novice division (under 9 months of training). But its still impressive that he won becuase most schools sandbag at grapplers quest.

I can guarntee my first guy was sandbagging.. It was his third comp, and he trains at Cobra Kai (a well respected school)..

I do have some wrestling experience if you read the other posts, from way back in HS..

Man.. Just re-watched the tapes.. I made a few mistakes in my first match, that would have given me the win by points and not advantages.

I switched from Side Control to Mount and lost the mount before the 3 seconds for points..

I could have EASILY held the side control for the 3 seconds and scored the 3 points..

I did some suicide passes, and noticed I sould have kept my left elbow in more to keep from an armbar (which didn't happen, but just in case against a better person)..
