Limelight My big stupid hype trains thread.

Great new Harry Hardwick signing very short notice ufc france Fight George the brother wants ufc too parents must have been Beatles fans.
John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. No Harry dude. <lol>

So I'm gonna be scaling this back in terms of rankings and stuff. I'm watching far less MMA than I used to. I'll may try and post hype trains from time to time about guys I get really excited about. We'll see, but tbh keeping up with rankings etc has become a bit of a chore and I'd probably only do it if UFC paid me to or something at this point lol.

Yeah its a lot of work man, thread can still function as a chat thread on prospects on the verge of a UFC callup.

Surprised you didn't get burned out after going for so many years. Appreciate all that you did.

Benouaich lost an SD yesterday at Ares
Diakhaté went to a draw for the LHW belt against Begai
George Hardwick has beaten a short-notice opponent at Cage Warriors by TKO
George Staines moving up to 7-0 and Elton Bamba Armindo beating McEwan by a liver shot in his first Cage Warriors fight to reach 7-0
Mohamed Machaev moving to 16-2 by TKOing journeyman Wanderley Junior at Oktagon (Wandy Jr has lost to Machaev, Eskiev, Chopurov, and the Naiza FW champ, Kabdrakhmanov, in a year)

Notice UFC seems not to be hiring HW fighters with long records even if they are the best outside the UFC. Been hiring new guys with only 4 to 6 fights most I never heard of. Looks like they are expecting to start over this division from scratch word is they are waiting on Gable Steveson as expect him too be the next big thing if he can avoid the more experienced fighters. This would explain why they ignored top Heavy weights like Vadim Nemkov when they became available.

It would also be extremely bad for business and viewing figures if every male champion was a Dagi/Russian wrestler type decision king.

They aren't all "wrestler types" though, and Dagestan/Chechnya doesn't produce enough talent to simply have champs on lock in every division...look at Flyweight where guys like Askar Askarov, Azamat Kerefov, Tagir Ulanbekov. Etc basically the best in the world from that region, aren't exactly dominating the UFC. At 135 arguably the best Russian 135er lost to Merab. At 145 Evloev is barely scrapping past Allen and Aljo...both fights could have went either way. At 155 yeah...Islam and Khabib are the two best ever. At 170? I mean they didnt sign the Shamil Musaev Ramazan Kuramagomedov, Magomed Umalatov, Saygid Izakhamaevs etc. And while I think they'd all be good additions and do well, besides Musaev, I dont necessarily think any are champion caliber. At 185 you have Khamzat and I do think Magomedrasul Gasanov would be a top 5 guy too if they signed him. At 205 I think Nemkov was superior to Ankalaev, but Ank is one of the best but man...he barely scraped by Poatan and old man Jan.

Id like to think of signing more central Asian and Russian talent as a means to set a higher standard for athletic excellence and technical ability for the sport across the board. More of them, forces the guys they sign from other countries to be better. Theres plenty of Central Asians and non Dagi Russians who are must signs. When these guys aren't present in the UFC, the talent from other psrts kf the world will not develop a clinch and grappling game thats sufficient because without necessity there is no evolution.

Denzel Freeman HW just signed to UFC he is like 6-1. Interesting before MMA he was doing WWE NXT .

Moustapha Diakhite - 4-0-1, 205lbs. ARES FC.

I accidentally stumbled on this fella yesterday - looking at his photos, look and demeanour, he seems ridiculously marketable and potentially popular. Proper physical specimen. It seems he drew fighting for the title last time out, and a rematch is scheduled for December. If he wins that, I could see the UFC taking a punt on him at 5-0-1 and signing him outright.

They never let him go just never fought him he waited out his contract. Saygid Izagakhmaev's contract with ONE Championship has ended, with him reportedly becoming a free agent around September 2025.
Is there a source for that? He was supposed to be on Contender's last year before pulling out due to an injury and word of mouth was that he was already pretty much signed a few months back

Obviously ONE is a terrible company when it comes to wasting the career of guys who want out so I wouldn't be shocked if they indeed put him on the shelf, but Saygid in the UFC had been brewing for a long time. Even longer if you take into account Dana going out to watch his fight with Carlston.

My source was Reddit, but when I googled AI it I get a different response (last time AI led me to Reddit on it). Then my last time I used AI, been getting into the habit of using Google AI instead of paying for articles just use the article headline on AI and get all the info.. but with AI when you change the question a bit you get complete diffent answer. Ask rightly is tricky. So you are probably right.
