Limelight My big stupid hype trains thread.

Lucas Rafael Ferraz maybe worth keeping tabs on. 6-0 with 4 finishes and a win over Neemias Santana who was on the past season of DWCS.
His haircuts are always worth keeping tabs on (a mix of Jonathan Goulet and Heath Herring) <BirdieOwn>
I actually recognized him first not from MMA but from the 2024 K-1 WGP in Brazil
K-1 WORLD GP 2024 in Brasilia

In what would be Lucas Rafael's only loss ever (MMA or KB, pro or amateur), he got finished in the first round by my boy Marcos Carvalho. , one of Rafael Teixeira's best students IMHO (28 years old; in pro kickboxing he's 21-6 and he's also won 2 WGP Super Middlweight Challenger GP [the same org & weight class Lucas later won his], he's also had some Muay Thai bouts but I don't have his official record there)

So, no shame for Lucas Rafael to have lost to him (he's only 23 years old, and other than that, he's 6-0 in pro MMA, 5-1 in pro KB, 1-0 in AMA MMA and 1-0 in AMA KB), and since that one loss he's won more kickboxing bouts, winning the finale of the WGP Super Middleweight Challenger GP in September of 2025 against another former victim of Marcos Carvhalo, Cicero Evangelista (who was also at that 2024 K-1 WGP in Brazil, but he won his match-up against ONE veteran Edson "Panico" Marques) <mma4>

Aaaanyway, good call, I'll also keep a closer eye on Lucas Rafael and his next hairstyle!

Jungle Fight:
Tiago Pereira (10-0) takes the BW belt by submission over Davi Almeida (8-5)

Guilherme Silva KOs (8-2, WW, Team Ribas, one loss to Michael Oliveira) Guilherme Trinidade (14-8 vet) in R1

ARES:
Tamerlan Azizov (5-0, including a win over Jawany Scott) takes the flyweight belt from the champ, while Ghassen Jbalia (6-0) takes the interim FW belt. A fight for the belt would be his first test

Nice test tommorow for surgin bantamweight from Serbia Miljan Zdravković(9-0).
He faces Candanian veteran Josh Hill(23-7) for the FNC bantamweight title.
Miljan won by unanimous decision.

Was an Indonesian fighter.
Still his 7th finish in a row which for a flyweight is crazy. Might as well give him a spot if cans like Maksum could get one tbh.

On the same card Chris Brown upset 4-0 Guram Gochashvili and won me $67 (not a meme), he missed weight at MW and looked fat so he'll never get out of the regionals again, but he remains a stern test for any prospect.

Oh, Bilal is a top 5 Flyweight peospect in the sport to be signed right now. Easily top 3 if you exclude Mokaev and Severino. The kid is really good, him and Daniyar Toychubek.

Then why is it relevant that his opponent is Indonesian?

Not trying to be a jerk or anything, but why bring that up? Are you downplaying opponent and his win? I don’t think that’s case though as you said he was top 3 prospect.

Marcos Degli from LFA is also a flyweight have no idea why he's not in the UFC yet

Yeah the opponent was not good and a lot of these prospects out of Indonesia are really bad despite their records. Hes fought much better opponents prior, bringing up that "he dominated a 7-0 guy" is kinda tone deaf. Bilal deserves a contract regardless though, obviously.

Degli is good but I thought he was losing his last one until he found the KO punch. I also thought he lost to Murillo but I also really like Murillo so not too bothered about that. Degli does have insane power for a flyweight

Bilal obviously looked great at the weekend and Jeremy de la Mata isn't far off being UFC ready too.

CFFC:
Bilal Hasan (24 yo, 8-0, 7 finishes, trains at AMC with Demetrius) keeps his belt by spamming body shots in one round. He asked the UFC to be on the Seattle card next March

Crazy girl Emily Martins (21 yo, 5-1) keeps the WBW belt vs an 8-6 opponent with her third RNC in a row

At MW, Chris Brown (36yo, 13-5, excl. Rihanna) won the decision despite having shorts with pockets, upsetting 4-1 Georgian fighter Gochashvili. Nick Galanti (27yo, 6-1) won by quick submission vs Derek Benoit. I would like to see Galanti fight Chris Brown for the belt

Pancrase:
Yanagawa (8-1 25yo FW) upset Kalybek Arzykul Uulu (24yo, 13-2) by R1 KO
Sardarov (24yo 6-0 Tajik, IMMAF guy) submitted Sato (24yo, 9-2) for the MW belt in R4
Yamauchi (Bellator vet) submitted Shogo Sato in R2 for the WW belt
Tajima KOed Rui Imura in R1 in a fun fight for the BW belt
Motono dominated Karen for the WSW belt

FNC:
Janicic (19-3, a win over Bojkovic, 28y LW) defeated Brazilian cowboy in R1 by GnP

Zdravkovic kept his BW belt by beating Josh Hill (Bellator vet, now a good journeyman) by UD
Luka Giorgadze (25yo, 11-2 FW) TKOed Ahmed Vila (good European fighter) in R2 after he gassed out

PFL Africa:
Ndebele (11-3, South Africa) won the BW tournament by tip-kick KO.
Tchala (14-2-1, Guinea Bissau) upset Esperanca, who retired on the stool before R4.
It took 20 seconds for Bably (8-2, 2 losses by SDs, England / Ivory Coast) to win the HW tournament.
Adeshina (10-3, Nigeria) upset Majorique by winning the FW tournament by doctor stoppage due to an eyelid cut.
Outside the tournament, Kubanza (8-1) won his fight in 3 mins by GnP, Juliet Ukah (8-0 WSW) is also fighting below her level. Kane (5-1 HW, loss by illegal knee) also won his fight. I am curious to see what the PFL will do with Africa next year

KSW:
Bartosinski (30 yo, 18-1) kept his WW belt by GnP. I heard he would like to move to the UFC through Joanna's connection

Open FC Gorilla:
Aleksey Murashev is an 18-year-old heavyweight, 5-0, but quite can-crushing right now. Still fun to watch

Fight Star (small British show):
Ex-HW prospect Kamali lost by SD to Matthew Byfield, who is a mid-fighter
Muhidin Abubakar (27yo 12-1 flyweight) moved to 12-1 by KOing a Brazilian fighter

@Hellowhosthat - I see above that Shah Kamali lost again, that's him done now unfortunately as a prospect I'd say. What do you think of Abraham Bably (8-2)? I liked his KO in the video above and while his opponent looked trash, he looked pretty quick and aggressive and his losses aren't awful either. DWCS maybe in 2026?

Yeah Shah is done I think, Byfield is very average and a natural LHW.

Bably I think is decent. I thought he beat Trabelsi. Only issue is he's tied to PFL AFAIK.

Heard they maybe planning on expanding DWCS next year. Supposedly it will be a double season with the first one starting in March.
