IMO prokofiev War sonatas are some of the best music of the 20th century. All 3 were composed and first played inthe midldle of that disastrous fucking war. As far as a completely badass recording from the whom was supposed to play the 6th, I gotta say Richter Prokofiev 6. It's fucking nasty.



For number 7, I'll throw Sokolov out there. This is Astonishingly good.



Onto number 8, of course we can't get past Richter again. Some of the best playing ever IMO (this entire sonata, havea lot going on,. this recording in particular. This recording on of my favorites ever of anything,
