So recently I have been experiencing some serious muscle cramps mainly in my feet and in my biceps. It hurts alot but I can deal with it. Today however I was doing cable crunches to finish off my lower day and I experienced an abdominal cramp from hell. The left side of my abdominal wall basically condensed itself into a little ball and tightened up beyond comprehension. It was probably the most painful minute of my life. I fell to the floor like a sack of shit and layed there in the fetal position until it went away. I honestly thought I was gonna tear something.

My question is......wtf! Why do these cramps happen? Is it a dietary thing like a lack of sodium or potassium or do I need to stretch something. I'm honestly afraid of doing anything besides ab roll outs for my abs at this point. I would rather get kicked in the sack than experience that

Ab cramps are the worst. First time I got one I thought I had a hernia. The only thing you can do is wait it out and hope it doesn't cramp again as you try to remove yourself from the fetal position

Definitely take a look at your electrolyte intake and your fluid intake in general before jumping to any other conclusions. Zinc and Magnesium supplementation might be helpful too if you're not already supplementing with it.

Honest to god i thought i was on the verge of tearing my abs or experiencing a hernia. Never had a hernia so no clue what thats like but in my head i was like "Yup this is what that shit must feel like"

If this happens again and the cramping remains localized to one spot in your abs, you should see a doctor and rule out some actual injury in the abdominal wall.
