Superheros are definitely an issue. Considering the advancements of special effects, I guess some tolerance must be granted.

I can allow them to recast Lisbeth. Just because they skipped over what, two of the other books in the series and got straight to that one. I think of it as more of a stand alone film rather than being part of a series.

Michael Gambon as Dumbledore was better then Richard Harris (RIP). Harris was decent but I think cause he was sick it affected his performance. Gambon was just better.

Although I think a lot of that was down to the nature of the films shifting and the character developing a bit more edge to him, there was talk of Harris's friend Peter O'tool getting the role after his death.

The Punishers have only gotten better imo

I thought Tom Jane was the best punisher. While John Bernthal was good, I just don’t think he looks the part. But they made his character a more modern retelling of the Punisher - a soldier who fought in the Mid East, so I thought it worked well in that sense.

But Tom Jane was the best.

I liked Tom Jane too. That movie doesn't get enough credit. Rewind to 2004 and that was as gritty and dark of a comic film as we could get at the time. It was ahead of it's time.

I talked myself into watching The Girl in the Spider's Web because I kind of like the Lisbeth Salander character. Long story short, I read that the actress cast for the American remake was interested in reprising the role, but they selected someone else. Why? I've seen the Swedish trilogy. I saw the remake. Now the new guys want me to get used to a third Lisbeth and Mikael.
Memo to the Hollywood dickheads: I don't like when you keep changing the actors and actresses. At some point in time do you think those cokehead nutballs considered the value of continuity? Excluding 007, when has the second or third casting made a character better?

Agreed. They never needed to remake the Swedish films in the first place, but subtitles are herrrd for Americans, so they do that all the time as a cash grab. At least we got something good thanks to David Fincher, Rooney Mara, and the always brilliant Stellan Skarsgard.
