that's Swick's gym, right?

Are any of you training over there affected by the political protests? My Thai friends are telling me to wait a month or two before heading over.

I was just there from the 1st to the 12th. nothing serious happened (aside from a couple grenade attacks that didnt cause any injuries). they are selling lots of protest memorabilia though haha.

was a bit sketchy when the protest leader (Suthep) was being escorted out of Siam Square. he walked past me and my friend like 50 feet away with like 12 guards looking up at the BTS for gunmen/snipers. was gonna snap a vid but decided against it immediately.

Can anyone tell me just how bad training in Chiang mai will be in March? I didn't know anything about all the burning until I had booked my tickets!

I've read a few mixed opinions, including the training blog someone posted, but I wanted to see if anyone on here had any experience of it?

I was only going to be there for around 10 days, it seems it's fairly cheap there at that time of year and I could do with saving money, not if it's going to ruin my lungs though!

April is the hottest month in Thailand, so if you're going in late March, it'll probably be getting pretty toasty. Depending on where you're from and what kind of climate you're used to, the heat and humidity could really sap your energy.

This is based on my experience in central Thailand though; not sure if there's much difference up north. Hopefully someone else can chime in as well!

damn it, i am planning to go to Phuket right at the beginning of April. but it's just as hot and humid as that in Taipei, we just get that weather later in the summer months, so in that way i am well-conditioned haha.

It's not so much the heat, I've read that in the north of Thailand, the farmers burn up e fields and it creates really bad smog. A lot of people advise to avoid North thailand completely during this time....

I hope it's just the north anyway, as I'm also going to Phuket in April!

Hey guys, just wondering how 13 coins gym was atm? And if anyone knew how much the prices for per day ect and one on ones were. Also is pakorn training out of 13 coins now!?

Received word that Bovy Sor. Udomson is holding pads at Sitsongpeenong Bangkok now.

May can be pretty terrible in Chiang Mai, very hot, much smog. But there are some gyms up in the mountains where it

hrrm....maybe I can consider bangkok as an option again.

I leave in 20 days and was pissed to learn that while Im there(next 3 months) Chiang mai has super bad pollution from all the burning. And BKK has these riots....Not sure if the south appeals to me as I'm more looking to rent a cheap apartment, eat tons of food and maybe find a pool/gym for days when I aint training.

Go to Hua Hin, pretty cheap, cleaner air and good gyms there. Beaches are ok and the city is quite nice.

I've made similar plans, which i never stick too :)
KYN is on an island near Phuket. Reviews on muaythailand.com rate the gym very highly indeed. Many saying the head trainer there is the most technical trainer they have worked with. I haven't been there myslef, but it has been recommended to me.

Only trained there for five days, but it
