Gym/Training Muay Thai Gym Q&A

Anyone here train at Chay Yai gym recently in Chiang Mai? I'm considering training there or at Lanna when I head to Thailand this August.
 
Is Saenchai gonna be in Sinbi still in September? Very looking forward to training along side of him or seeing him
 
hey all just wondering for peoples opinions on the options i have..in November my gym is planning a trip over to Thailand again and they are either thinking of going to Hau Hin which would involve one session a day, there may be options to get in more training if we wanted it, and it would form more of a holiday type of trip or we can go to Bangkok and train twice a day at Sasiprapa.
Any views in the two options?

i probably could do that too, im just wondering what would be the better gym? there is not a gym pinned down for hau hin at the moment but if its in bangkok we will be training at sasipara
 
How come everyone has so much to tell against Tiger Muay Thai gym? Can someone please tell me what is wrong with that gym?

By the looks of their home page and Facebook page I would say it's one of the best gyms in Thailand. Their weight loss programme is just wow, they have yoga classes great shop and everything looks very clean.

I haven't been to Tiger since 2008, I believe, so I'm not sure how relevant my opinion as this point.

But you shouldn't let the glitz and marketing hype of a gym's website dictate where you train. Of course they want you to think it's the biggest, baddest gym in all of Thailand.

If that's what you want i.e. yoga & weight loss programme then yes it is one of the best gyms that can offer you that.

I'm thinking about stopping by for a session in October, but I'm not really encouraged by what I've seen. But Danny is a really nice guy and I would like to hang out with Eyat again.
 
Im heading to Fairtex Bangplee soon but im hearing that the camp is really run down these days. Can anyone speak to this?

No but I was at Sinbi in April and I would say go there, even though they slightly raised prices recently

I wouldn't say it is run down. But it was a ghost town when I was there a few weeks ago.

They only raised the price for drop-in students. They are trying to discourage tourists who just come for 1 or 2 sessions. It makes it difficult to train the commited students when there are 10 people who just dropped in to give Muay Thai a try. Sing really does not want Sinbi to get packed full of tourists like many of the gyms in Phuket.

Makes sense and the price increase is barely anything. I will gladly pay for the level of training there. They also added more sessions per day with beginner sessions which is also aimed to fix that problem. When I was there there were lots of tourists who stopped to check it out just because they were driving by on their scooters so I think it's all good decisions by Sing to make sure its remains a serious gym
 
I don't know what it is, but I absolutely love reading about these trips to Thailand and learning about the different MT Camps. I don't think I'm brave enough to do it myself haha, but I find it fascinating for some reason. It's like a cooler version of the Discovery Channel.
 
FYI: Starting Monday, Sinbi is switching back to a single afternoon class at 4PM.
 
Also doing sitsonpeenong while im there. Resident at both.
