I'm recommending noting "UFC 278" as the lead to the link, as it's about it and it's fresh in people's mind. Something like "UFC 278 MS Paint Shoop Competition - VOTE HERE!"

"v7 and round 1" are irrelevant to most people and without a reference to UFC 278 they may not even know what it means and avoid clicking. I'm sure most people on the boards know the drill by now but I'm just thinking a bit better marketing could attract a deeper voting pool (we've seen some thin turnouts over the last year a couple of times). My background is advertising and marketing so I'm just thinking on that level to help improve where we can!

BWR agreed with me previously in a pm but didn't want to bother the admins because they were already doing a huge favour and busy folks of course. Just a suggestion for future that maybe can work to get more eyes on the thread/art.
I think that’s a very good point. Tying it to an event will make the banner more eye catching.

@Myrddin Wild @Otto! @Arqueto @giovanni_ss

Thanks @giovanni_ss for reminder :p

I like simplicity of 1,
8 is definitely my fav, MORTAL KOMBAT!!
15 is something else, I like this type of humor :D
16 is plain awesome,
and 9 for awesoem and accurate depiction of Rogan and especially Usman's now famous facial expression :D

Those 5 are getting my votes but all of them are great, very tough choice. Very good job everyone.

This is more on us than the voter's bud. Some shoopers left, some just stopped, and others got banned. It's been a while since we had a two-thread contest as we're not getting as many shoopers signing up and submitting as we used to. A recruitment drive could help this and we have discussed it recently.

Less content to vote for equals fewer votes.

As far as what you're saying though it could help and we can try it for the next round I'll be sure to mention it when I PM Lethal and ask for the banner. I also think we are on an MMA related website and the thread is in the UFC Discussion forum so it's not that big of a stretch to assume a shoop contest is for the most recent UFC event.

We've just seen a massive boost in the voting since the banner went up as I'm monitoring it and the voting jumped up which is awesome. I like your idea though and we should definitely try it out. I think the most important thing is to get more shoopers onto the scene and try and get some of the old-school shoopers back into it. There were times when we had almost 40 people in the contests and that meant more votes too.

It is bud. It was designed by @bigwaverider @dindonker @Draxton and Draxton 3D printed it. We are going to make it a regular occurrence for the shoop contests and send one out to the winner if they want to claim one.

Ah i misread it in the OP and thought Siver made it!<45>lol
In this case:
Well done @dindonker and @Draxton
makes me happy (and a bit sad since i miss his presence) to know BWR was involved in it as well

I appreciate all the kudos. @dindonker did all the heavy lifting with the sculpting. I can only dream of getting as good one day.

Well said, & understood. I agree. "Yoda speak" is about saying the most relevant thing first. "Appreciate your insight I do."

Agreed... spelling it out is something that doesn't require much (if any) effort. It's just a simple twist in wording that could get people to the main points quicker. I like it
Well dun... & point copied my brotheh~

Makes sense to me.

For sure, the banner is HUGE!!!

Like you... I don't mind a bit of discussion on how it could move more people to click, with a simple adjustment to wording.

There were times when we had almost 40 people in the contests and that meant more votes too.
Great point that some events just attract more people to spend their valuable time making art... and that creates more or less votes in the end.

...and it can only help, if our banner is more understandable at a quick glance. "V"whatever "R"whatever... are details they can pick up when they get to teh thread. Lets get their attention though first with something anyone can understand.

I like it.

Definitely, and we need to do it for the next round. When they added the individual's name to the banner I thought that was genius, it really put a personal touch to it. Me when I first saw it:
