Oh, well, if the Bill of Rights is the be-all-end-all, let's bring back slavery, guys.

Yea, I wouldn't have a problem with redefining what marriage is if it went through the same constitutional process that removed slavery.

Of course, you'd prefer we skip all that because you'll decide what a right is and who should get these rights. The bill of rights!? Lol, that's soooooo 1950's or something.

His meltdown- and how that was leaked- is a different beast. So is the nature of the case for someone like Phil Robertson who was essentially fired from a position in the public eye for making comments in the public sphere. That's a more complicated discussion, IMO.

Even that I didn't particularly care for. We have grown too soft and too sensitive in this country. This brand of political correctness is hurting the health of our political dialogue.

Funny with you being a mod. How many people have you banned for posting something that was deemed offensive ? The same rues apply here as in life. Say what you want but there are always consequences (or a word filter).

Are these rules set by you or whoever pays you ? Who defines whats offensive to someone else ?

Bigotry cannot be allowed to be woven into the fabric of a business. I fully support that. Yet a third or fourth time: he was not conflating his personal life with his application as an executive. That was not happening.

Making comments or whatever isn't that big of a deal. When you start trying to fund laws against those people, you are fair game. Especially as the head of a Corp like Mozilla.

Sherdog is a private site. I'm am bound to enforce the rules they specify. When people can no longer address my arguments, but instead hurl empty, ubsubstantiated, and totally irrelevant attacks at my moderation...the argument is sewn up. It's a classic fold.

Concession accepted.

WSJ said:
Mr. Eich's selection as CEO was controversial for other reasons. Three Mozilla board members resigned over the choice because they wanted an outsider with more mobile-industry experience to help the organization promote its mobile operating system with telecom companies, according to people familiar with the matter. Mozilla said the three resigned for a variety of reasons.
Not surprising. It appears that this was a classic hit job. Connecting the dots, it seems apparent that his detractors who disapproved of his appointment dredged up the LA Times list showing his campaign donation, and used it to beat the PC war drums to assassinate him on an issue entirely unrelated to his function as CEO.

Talk about "sheep". They're wagging the dog, here. This isn't about gay rights. It's just a convenient weapon for their business agenda. And here it is being lapped up.

What a fool you are. I bet I do more to protect workers from employers and to put them on an equal footing by enforcing their rights in a single day than you've done in your entire life.

This is pretty sad and desperate. (Though you are now my new hero.)

And you're dodging the crux of the issue... Why are you willing to let the government give an employer the power to deny an employee his salary, solely based on the private life and behaviors of that employee outside the workplace, but not willing to let the government give an employer the power to deny service to customers, based on the private lives and behaviors of those customers?

Why not just maintain a consistent position and say that a business should be legally free to, for example, deny invitation printing services for a gay wedding, since the public has the power to "punish" them just as effectively via a future boycott?

Or where do you stand on the Hobby Lobby issue? Should HL have the right to offer a health care plan to its employees that does not include contraceptive coverage?

Or how do you feel about that teacher who was fired, not because of her performance, but because it was discovered that, in her past, she had performed in porn?

Sketchy at best. Kovacs was the only one pushing to have someone do the job with Eich.

Your assessment is worth little, IMO. You've already failed to defend your position.

According to you. Sorry I don't side with the bigots and give them passes.
No, you failed, objectively. You wouldn't even address central points made. Conversely, I've rebutted every bit of intolerant drivel that has spilled from your mouth. You're every bit the bigot that you're seeking to crucify.

It appears that there are few posters on this site who are not indoctrinated unto the fanaticism of either side. I do not hesitate to flatten rhetoric from crusaders like you in order to give this group a voice.

A voice for bigots like Eich yea we know.

This sort of dishonesty is why you've been getting schooled for 3-4 straight pages. I've already clarified that I oppose his political position.

Pretty much^. Eich can use his free speech, but others cant use theirs to call him out on his bullshit. Its harassment and wrong.

So you don't set the rules, that's whole the point.

Do you personally have a problem with looking at a pair of naked breasts ? My guess is probably not, yet you would be forced to card or ban anyone that posted them on here. Nobody gets to say what they want and everyone is answerable to someone else.

It also applies to anyone or any mod and was not directed solely at you.

You're still not getting it. People were calling him names on twitter! You don't pay to use twitter. If they purchased television ads to express their displeasure, there would be no problem.

Good. Anyone who supported Prop 8, especially those who gave money to it, deserve to be shit on mercilessly.

Before he had no choice, but now he has a choice since I posted a link saying Firefox didn't ask him to step down? Before he was some hapless victim of bullying but now he's a martyr for people who can separate personal from public life?

It would have been much more interesting if he stuck around and explained his position.

You should move to Toronto, our mayor apparently has a lot of backbone

*Yawn* You already tooled yourself once today trying to show me up: love those assumptions. Pretty telling that you're too terrified anymore to even engage my arguments. Regardless, I have no desire to entangle myself in a circumstantial narrative that I cannot definitively prove.

Another misreading and conflation of separate spheres. The forums of Sherdog are the business itself. If he was policing his business with an anti-gay fist, discriminating against gay employees, ideas, or creating a hostile work environment, then this would be relevant. Furthermore, Crave/Sherdog do permit naked breasts; just not in forums you're permitted to see. Indeed, there are yet further layers of privacy. This would almost be like if Crave "fired" me- or more appropriately, someone like DMF or Buffalo- for not removing pics of naked breasts on private forums like the mod subforum.

Yeah! We should put them in stocks and stone them to death!! That's enlightenment!

I feel like a lot of people just want to be made at the "intolerant left" when it was a business decision.
