they really messed it up. made an awful prequel and then ruined the first with an even worse sequel in 2014.

imo the sequel was so bad cause they were horribly exaggerated caricatures of themselves, especially harry. i'm kind of glad they don't attempt sequels to some great movies, they almost never get the original magic right.

Surprised JCVD never went back to Timecop. That could've/should've been his Terminator/Under Siege and Schwarzenegger and Seagal were smart enough to get extra butter for their bread. I know JCVD was having a love affair with coke and probably wasn't thinking too clearly as the '90s were ending, but a Timecop II could've been cool and maybe could've changed his trajectory as he stumbled into crap like Legionnaire, Inferno, Replicant, and a sequel to Universal Soldier instead of Timecop!

Also surprised Shane Black hasn't tried to get Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling back for more movies in the world of The Nice Guys. That movie rules and Crowe and Gosling were phenomenal together.

And then this is hack but still...

You almost got your wish. Fincher was supposed to direct the sequel, but the studio got cold feet over the budget and pulled the plug. There might be a reboot in the future.
