Movies about hip hop and rap industry?

Krush Groove and Wild Style came out in the early 80's when the hip hop/B-Boy movement was still raw and fresh in the streets, when it was still unsullied by Hollywood execs and success

Also, there was a Netflix series a few years ago- the Get Down. It was pretty good, had promise, but ended abruptly (like a lot of stuff on Netflix)

A new one came out called immortal city records and its actually really good.

Popular ones are all eyes on me, 8 mile and straight outta Compton.

But I noticed there are really good ones that are not as popular like hustle and flow. Let me know your favorite movie about the hip hop and rap industry. Some of the gems were tv movies or straight to DVD.

Freddie Gibbs starred in a movie last year called Down With the King. It’s about a rapper that is tired of the same grind sans moves out to the country for inspiration.

I haven’t got around to watching it, but I’ve read some good reviews about it.

It seems similar to that episode of Atlanta even Al (Paper Boi) moves to the country to get away from life in Atlanta.

Straight out of Compton was the best rap movie I have seen. Notorious and the Tupac movie from 2017 were decent.
