I'm actually intrigued since most of the original cast (besides the actress who played Ralph's mom) is back.

Please let this be good. I love the original, I have a mini leg lamp and a bunch of Xmas ornaments I bought from Flick himself at a comic con. My expectations are low but I'm hoping they pull some Cobra Kai magic

Cailee Spaeny in Talks to Star in New ALIEN Movie from Director Fede Alvarez and 20th Century Studios

Rising actress Cailee Spaeny, who appeared in HBO’s Mare of Easttown, is in talks to lead the next Alien movie.

Fede Alvarez, the filmmaker behind Don’t Breathe and 2013’s remake of Evil Dead, wrote the script and is directing the feature project that will reboot the sci-fi horror franchise. This would be the seventh Alien movie, with the last being 2017’s Alien: Covenant.

Ridley Scott, who directed the original sci-fi horror movie released in 1979 and returned for the two 21st century installments, Covenant among them, will produce via his Scott Free banner. Alvarez is also producing.

Alien and its many sequels and prequels focus on the horror of a ferocious race of alien beings called Xenomorphs, who implant eggs inside living bodies via “facehuggers” that violently burst out of chests when they reach a certain stage of maturity.

While plot details are being kept under wraps for now, the casting of Spaeny does continue the franchise’s tradition of having a strong female lead at the center of the monstrosity.

Spaeny's first major role was in the science fiction action film Pacific Rim Uprising (2018), which was followed by appearances in Bad Times at the El Royale, On the Basis of Sex, and Vice the same year. She also portrayed the lead of the supernatural horror film The Craft: Legacy (2020). On television, Spaeny was a series regular on the FX science fiction thriller Devs (2020) and the HBO crime drama Mare of Easttown (2021). The actress is currently shooting Priscilla, a biopic of Elvis Presley’s one-time wife, Priscilla Ann Presley, being directed by Sofia Coppola.

Bradley Cooper to Star in Steven Spielberg’s Film Based on Steve McQueen’s Frank Bullitt

Bradley Cooper is set to star in Steven Spielberg’s next film, which will be based on Steve McQueen’s Frank Bullitt character, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

Cooper will play the role of Frank Bullitt, even though Spielberg’s film will not be a remake of the 1968 film Bullitt, a car chase-filled actioner. Instead, Spielberg plans a new take on the tough San Francisco cop that McQueen played in the original film.

Bullitt starred McQueen as an SFPD lieutenant tasked with protecting a Chicago gangster scheduled to testify against the mob. When the witness is murdered, Bullitt is set on a path to track down the killers. The film earned two Oscar nominations and featured a head-turning, 11-minute car chase sequence. It would go on to become one of McQueen’s more enduring roles.

Warner Bros. has the rights to Bullitt, and the new project that Spielberg will direct and is now in development was previously announced. Cooper will join Spielberg and Kristie Macosko Krieger as a producer. That marks their second recent collaboration, following Maestro.

Josh Singer will write the script for the new version of Bullitt, while family members Chad McQueen and Molly McQueen will executive produce. Cooper is currently in postproduction on Maestro, which he co-wrote, directed, produced and stars in alongside Carey Mulligan.

The film will be released by Netflix in 2023. Spielberg encouraged Cooper to direct and star in Maestro after viewing Cooper’s directorial debut, A Star Is Born. Spielberg serves as a producer, along with Macosko Krieger, Martin Scorsese, Fred Berner and Amy Durning on Maestro.
